If we are 10-2 and Ole Miss is 10-2 they cannot be ranked higher than us. our beating them heads up would cause their higher ranking to be a fail of epic proportions and the committee would be exposed as worthless the first year.

And isn't Archie off the committee for now, due to health?

If LSU beats bama this week, they will jump Ole Miss and Bama. If they don't that would be the biggest joke in the polls. I think a win over bama will cement this turnaround in the media's eyes. That would give us 5 teams we had played in the top 25, going 3-2, with two consecutive wins over top 5 teams. There wouldn't be a team in the country with 3 quality wins like LSU would have....Wisconsin needs to keep winning.

A 10-2 LSU is certainly behind a 10-2 Bama. We will have to win the SEC. Which doesn't make sense, but true...

I know it is bama and they usually get the benefit of the doubt...but I don't think this will be true. LSU will get some huge love if they beat bama. That will give them 3 very quality wins......Alabama would have zero quality wins......I just don't think they could consciously pull that off...if they did...holy frick.

I come in peace for this comment and will be my only one here. But my outlook is that if both teams go 10-2 OM will end season ranked higher in the Playoff rankings

did you kind of laugh when you posted this? Ole Miss would have a win over an Alabama team that is 0-2 against other top 25 teams.....LOL....LSU would have beaten you, AND the team that you guys are obviously getting so much love for beating. I think if LSU beats bama...it is going to expose the Ole Miss win for what it was.

If both teams finish 10-2....there is a VERY good chance LSU wins the WEST....I don't know if you see that or not....also, LSU would be ahead of OM in the West standings regardless, and would have beaten them head-to-head....plus would have Possibly beaten an out of conference top 10 or 15 team....you can't possibly tell me with a straight face that you think this is true.

BECAUSE in the final week of the season we would have knocked off a 11-0 or 10-1 MSU team while LSU just knocks off A&M. I could see LSU moving ahead of OM if they knock off Bama but i think an OM win over MSU would put them back in front again
This makes sense, sadly. I'd disagree with the ranking, but can see how an objective vote would turn out that way.

Question: does the committee rankings of teams at 5 and beyond directly determine what bowl you go to, or is it just to be in the top 12?
Say Auburn takes the West and the SEC and makes the playoffs; Ole Miss is 6th and LSU is 8th. Does that mandate that a bowl must pick Ole Miss over us?

i wish this were true but we know its not. what if we win by 3 again? its 2011 all over again, they can simply say bama was the better team, they stopped themselves, LSU got lucky, Death Valley blah blah blah. frick they did that after LSU beat bama in tuscaloosa, they'll totally write this win off as voodoo.

were already behind ole miss, there's no reason to think anything changes next week. bama will stay in front of the other top 10 teams that lose, ole miss will win by 50 and move to 10, LSU will go to 13.

Im fricking livid right now, this committee is worse than my worst fear; the games don't matter and they do what they want. the fourth quarter will end on Saturday, but we have to wait until Tuesday for them to tell us who actually won.

LSU beats (Bama, Ark, A&M)
Ole Miss beats (High School, Ark, Miss St)
(In this scenario Alabama beats Miss St and Auburn.)
In your educated opinion who is ranked higher and would they make the top 4? Of course all big ifs.

If everything in your scenario plays out, then we go to the SEC championship game. If we win that we're in the top 4 IMO.

a little different situation this time around...bama would have two losses, the only two teams they played in the top 25. LSU would have three wins against top 25 teams, two against top 5 teams...and only losses to #1 and #3. If this were to happen, there needs to be some type of outcry from all in college football. Ole Miss in the same boat....they beat one good team......LSU beat that team AND Ole Miss themselves....Wisconsin will play a key role for LSU should they keep winning.

If we beat Alabama our ranking will jump ahead of both Ole Miss and Alabama.

This is true of a 7-2 Bama, but would not be true of a 10-2 Bama.

You're preaching to the choir and also making the fatal assumption that this Frickin committee is some how looking at things objectively.

This committee is going to screw this up so bad that there will be an immediate cry for a better system. I expect the 4th team to be completely undeserving regardless who it is. Right now it would be a clear cut Miss State and FSU national championship with Auburn as a solid #3. As of now, why should Auburn play for a national championship shot after getting drummed by Miss State? The 4th team won't matter. It's going to end up being whoever can safely navigate their shitty remaining schedule. This all seems like a waste of time to give some undeserving teams a chance to win the whole damn thing. FSU will most likely go undefeated and I think most people would assume Miss State will lose at some point. I guess we will let it shake out, but expect to be thoroughly disappointed with the results.

The ONLY way LSU makes the playoffs is if they win the SEC and they need a lot of help to do so beyond just winning three very tough games.

Quit worrying about it.

This. LSU has to win the SEC, which means one heck of a finish.

My desire is, of course, for LSU to win a tiebreaker at 6-2 with several other teams.

If not, then I hope we and everyone else beats Bama down the stretch and MSU wins the SEC.

What "3 very quality wins" would LSU have? Alabama, Ole Miss and who else would you include as a very quality win?

According to sports broadcasters on jocks this morning, Ole miss is ranked higher because of the narrow loss to auburn compared to our asswhipping auburn put on us. Never mind that we beat ole miss heads up. ?? What kind of logic is this shite?
