re: If Les would turn it over to LEE, We can go undefeated

Spec1 has it right when he discusses the need to decide on the type of offense we want. How many Super Bowl winners have a running QB? How many national champs have a JJ type QB. Coaches all too often get seduced by the physical ability and talent, but none of them (except for maybe Steve Young) can produce winners and champions the way pro-syle pocket passers do.

Fixed it. Add: THE STAFF has likely seen nothing that has changed their assessment of Mr. Lee's quarterbacking skills....

lee would turn 18 sacks into 18 picks trying to force it.

Plenty of athletic quarterbacks have gotten to and or won National Championships in college. Tebow, Crouch, Vick, Frazier just to name a few. JJ is more of a passer than all of them except for Tebow.
ETA: I'm not saying JJ is a championship QB or anything. Just saying your argument is flawed and innacurate.

Teams are coming up with more ways to use athletic qb's than they have in the past with the evolution of the spread/wildcat.
A couple of the last few qb's to win the NC were athletes playing qb, Vince Young and Tim Tebow. Tebow, the heisman winner who had more time than Jefferson, only mustered up what 50-60 more yards than.

How could I forget Vince Young? The more people I think of, the farther I get from being able to understand his argument.

It all depends on the system the qb is in

Well, he meets one criteria of the previous two QB that led us to a NC, but he does not meet the other as his name is not Matt

LSU's offensive problems do not necessarily relate specifically to the QB (although I am a HUGE proponent of getting Lee some meaningful snaps). LSU's offensive problems lies in the fact that is has no identity or purpose and that my friends falls squarely on Crowton and Miles.
They cannot decide what they want to be...running team, run to set up pass, shotgun team, pistol team, wildcat team.
Look at the top teams in the nation this year. They know what they want to do. Bama runs and runs and then sets up play action to single covered receivers, USC knows they have a young Qb so they run and run and set up the pass, Florida is well, Florida and knows that they must run to set up the pass. All of these teams have an identity to their offense. LSU does not.
Note: Obviously the o-line has not allowed us to run like we would like so some blame has to shift to the line. However, isn't Miles supposed to be a o-line guru? I cannot imagine an Urban Meyer team with a crappy offense.

"More picks????"
Ok...I'm sorry, but I'm sick of this arguement. I'm not making a pitch here either for JL or JJ, but, though it's probably been pointed out a number of times, let's try one more time....
J Lee had a better QB rating last year as a redshirt freshman than Matthew Stafford did his redshirt freshman year...albeit except for the pick sixes. But, let's be honest, the two picks for which I will blame JL for going for six the other direction is the one against Auburn and the one against Georgia. While the others were picks, someone has to step up and make a tackle. If my recollections is correct, one that went back for six for Alabama last year was return something like 40 yards. Don't you think that someone should have made a tackle.
And where is Matt Stafford right now...OH YEAH, he was the number 1 overall pick in last years draft and is starting as a rookie for an NFL team.

This is all you should have said.

No Lee will never start for LSU again, we are more shallow at QB than we thought. Lee will transfer to NSU.

That doesn't mean anything. I'm sure Jefferson has a higher QB rating than Stafford as well, doesn't mean he will be the #1 pick in 2 years.

It would be nice to open the game with the same no huddle that we ended the Georgia and Florida game with.
Jefferson just dropped and popped the recievers with no hesitation and the offensive line didn't have to wait 25 seconds in their down position to fire off the line.

My argument with everyone the last 2 weeks. Dude looks so much better when he doesn't have to think and just plays football. He obviously can't read a defense so what the hell let's play backyard football.

WOW! I bet you were suggesting last year to get rid of JL due to the pick 6 issues
Then you should search the archives. I was defending Lee last year. He has an NFL arm and not many do. He will play in the NFL.
By making this statement you have proven that you are spouting unfounded drivel when you could have done a search and had the answer to this idiotic hypothesis.

I'll take that bet.

Lee may not be the answer at QB, but how can we be sure Jefferson is? I would be for giving both Lee and Shepard more chances in game situations, which I know would probably be a nightmare for the coaches!
