Again, if the second loss was a 21-0 Bama-esque "deer in the headlights" embarrassment in the NCG, then I suspect a number of the "sad" responses would be different.

If the two losses were to Alabama and Ole Miss - I'd be thrilled.
That opens the possibility that LSU finishes 3rd in the West?? And don't forget about AU. They were in that little bowl game last year....

LSU football results have never taken a turn for a better than they have since 05.
If you would find 106-26 while playing in the SEC, at a time when the SEC has never been more powerful, to be somehow not acceptable, I have to wonder what LSU football program you have been following.
The program I have followed, has never before seen anywhere close to a 10 yr winning percentage of 80%.
When the best record of success we have ever had and one of the best in the current game is found by some to not meet expectations, then some need to reevaluate their expectations and perhaps seek college football mental health treatment. imo

But I thought Saban left the cupboard overstocked?

A little sad, but would wish him well and thank him for all the success he has brought LSU. It would depend on the replacement. It would make it easier if LSU had a slam dunk replacement, who that is, I have no idea. Maybe Rob Ryan (extreme long shot/no chance at all).

I agree with you in principal. But had he won it all on 1/9, or if he wins won in the future, as I have said before, there certainly shouldn't be a single, solitary fan that would have even the slightest beef with CLM.

It would be a sad day for LSU. IMHO, Les Miles has been LSU's best HC in history and that was achieved while the SEC has been at its peak.

Just about anyone with HC experience could coach these athletes. Good players make good coaches. Miles has some very weak sides, but he has some coaches to prop him up. I worry about the time management without the ST coach who always seemed to be helping Miles. He is a humorous guy that does not realize most of the time....we fans don't get it. He loves all the hoopla of being HC at LSU.

Come on...you are not that naïve! I have had guys here tell me they knew Miles was not the "right" guy for the job from the beginning and even after the 07 title. When you are that far out of touch with SEC/college football reality, nothing is going to change your mind but perfection.
If only 2nd NC and a 3rd BCSCG appearance will make some content, so be it. We each have the right to our own expectations.
I have been content with Miles, overall, since he went 11-2 out of the gate and certainly leading BCS/SEC football in wins for the past 9 yrs has only increased my own contentment. Others can feel as they please.

I'd hate it. However, I don't think he is going anywhere until his youngest is out of school for sure. After that, it is a matter of how much he really enjoys what he is doing. While he has his quirks, he and LSU are still a good fit for each other.
