there have been plenty of 5 star running backs who haven't lived up to the hype. I'm not saying Fournette is one of them, but I think a lot of you guys are drinking the Koolaid before he even takes a run against a good front 7.

Ok... asking if he'd take a Redshirt was probably dumb, but acting as if he'll have a huge impact next year with Hill, Magee............... and Hilliard (the odd man out) is making a huge assumption, especially with Miles loving upper classmen (isn't this still a thing with Miles)

You really don't get it. We haven't taken a tailback in two years for a reason....

We pretty much can guarantee that he will be gone after 3 years, redshirt or not.

Just play the dude.

Can't wait for all the off-season threads

Then why didn't Rivers play against Iowa? Why did Robinson and White become our starting DBs? Why did Jeremy Hill become our starter last year?

The only RB redshirting will probably be D. Williams if he even plays RB.

Not to be rude but are you an idiot? Les isn't going to put someone of his talent on the bench. Especially since he likes to play at least three running backs.

Some people on this board amaze me. Redshirt the #1 recruit in the nation. Brilliant!

Some of you guys are hilarious... whipping your LSU dicks out and acting majestic in predicting the future, when most of you frickers are wrong everyday of your life when it comes to LSU sports... I ask a questin... about a damn highly recruited and rated RB... not like we haven't seen these guys before... and you guys act like I'm a moron... maybe it was a little dumb to ask if he'd take a redshirt. I get it... you are good... minimal time in college to maximize NFL profiteering...

But at the same time, I don't think he will immediately split carries with Hill... and I really don't think he will overtake Magee in the depth chart...

I'm not saying the kid won't be good... I just don't think he'll be better than Hill next year... or good enough to really take carries away from Hill.

The carries will work themselves out but expect a lot more running plays next season with an inexperienced QB and all this RB depth.

The offense should look like Wisconsin's offense with 2 RBs over 1000 yards and another with 600+

I actually agree with your thinking other than asking about the redshirt. One of his biggest reasons for picking LSU is because he can contribute right away so a redshirt is pretty much out of the question which is why you are receiving so much shite.

Well we are going to run the shite out of the ball next year so dont be surprised if he still gets a ton of yards.

Goose, you are forgetting to take into account one major factor - LF plays Running Back.

RB is by far the easiest position on the field to transition into from one level to the next. It is predominantly athleticism which makes the transition so much easier. If LF was the #1 in the country at ANY other position, then you would have some validity. The issue is that he plays RB and there isn't any doubt.

Barring injury, LF is one of the top 5 RBs in the entire country physically from his first day on a college football field. It is not conjecture - that is a fact. You can dispute it all you want because he has not carried the ball yet at the college level, but you need to realize how uniquely talented he is at the RB position.

One of the most amazing things is the kid could be an All American at LB or S too if he wanted.

Any other position and you might have a case, but RB is a different animal.

.. but if Hill stays Fournette will have a quiet Frosh season... if not a redshirt

Unless he is injured, willl not redshirt. Crazy to think so as the #1 RB prospect in the nation. He wouldn't be at LSU if they were talking RS

Bet you thought Russell Shephard would throw a forward pass at LSU and that The FREAK would be All American as a Frosh too... you guys and your expectations based on H.S. game tape and arbitrary stars........

How did Jeremy Hill look in his first year of collegiate football last season? Fournette will do the same if not more. The only reason he might not do more is if Hill stays and they split carries.

ETA: It's going to be so awesome to insert Fournette into the game when Hill gets tired and vice versa. IF Hill stays...

The fact that you are this dumb makes my head hurt. Hilliard became the starting RB in front of Ware, Ford, and Blue in his true freshman season, Hill became the starting RB over Ware, Ford, Blue, and Hilliard. He will definitely have a huge impact if we base it on history alone. Then you realize that he is the great high school RB to come out since Adrian Peterson (10 years ago), and you got a major impact player.

I'm laughing at the people low balling the carries. Expect around 44 carries a game team total.
