If I have one concern, it's mistakes.

Penalties and turnovers. (I know that's two concerns but they fall under the one category of mistakes.)

Those are the great equalizers. They can make a great team look average and a shitty team (if benefiting from penalties and turnovers) look good.

I know it's obvious. But I have to trust the coaching. Trust that the process has taught the players well and mistakes will be minimized.

LSU probably can afford to be -1 against FSU in turnovers and come out with a win, barely. If it's a push in the turnover battle then LSU can walk out with a 10 point win. Anything with a plus turnover battle for LSU then you are looking at a 14-21 point win.

But -2 in the turnover battle or -1 plus over 10 penalties then it could be a bad night.

If LSU minimizes mistakes they will be fine.

If I have one concern, it is NOT mistakes. That's not how a coach like CBK operates. That's the ONE thing to NOT expect, like les miles delay of game out of timeouts.

My one concern is that FSU might score more points than us.

I'm not worried about coaching mistakes. I'm worried about player mistakes.

I can accept effort mistakes. That's going to happen during the course of a hard fought game. I just can't accept mental mistakes.

Gumbo - you are now a certified genius. I was thinking about posting the exact thing earlier. Almost word for word.

And that’s exactly what he told you. BK coached teams do not usually make mental mistakes.

Like the sun rising in the east...game week posts are always the same.

Minimizing mistakes
Win the turnovers
Convert 3rd downs
Discipline, minimal penalties
Team that rushes for over 100 yards wins games

If I missed anything, it is because I made a mistake. Kidding!

I can't wait, too. Hang in there.

I’m not liking how confident the board is becoming , the closer we get to Sunday.

A 3.5 point spread and the whole board expecting a fairly easy win isn’t a good sign.

Idk, I keep thinking we will be good because we really do have good players that have played a ton of football at every position , but Everytime I hear a talking head they expect us to suck.

I think our o line is gonna be a strength , I really do. If that’s the case , then we should be fine. I just get nervous because we really really need to win this game Sunday.

We can’t lay an egg when we’re the only game on

Tackling and blown coverages are my biggest concern. Until they prove that issue will be fixed, it’s still a major concern over the last couple years.

Not me mistakes happen. I’m worried about QB play we have the capability at all positions just need the qb to hold everything together and make the plays when he is needed

You can literally say this about any team in any game. These are the top two reasons why any team loses a game.

I'd summarize it as execution. I have confidence that the staff has gotten them ready and will put them in a spot to succeed, but they still have to execute when the lights come on. Sheer talent and will goes a long way, but can easily be dimmed with lack of execution. Let's all hope that they keep attention to detail and execute, especially in big spots when the fire is hot. If they do so and reap the rewards, it could provide the momentum needed to improve every week.

I'm trusting the BK process and I think the players will have grown into his careful but aggressive personality. I look for LSU to have a clean game. Few penalties and turnovers.

But it is 100% to be expected. Not only does the excitement level of fans rise as we get closer to game time, but go make two bets. One on an app, and one with a local bookie. Tell me you get the same lines. You won’t.

I am expecting a 7-10 point “boring” win. Both teams will try to run the ball and shorten the game. Kelly will play safe until he feels things out. But when one team has such a large talent gap in a vital position, it is hard to be confident. LSU dline should have a field day vs the fsu oline.

But you still have to play the game………

We were 3.5 underdogs against Oregon in 2011 and beat their arse by 2 TD's. We usually throttle teams out of the gate when we are ready to play. I'm pretty sure this team is ready to shut everyone's arse up and remind them that we are LSU. FSU has no OL. Their backs will have to have career nights for them to win this game. DUQUESNE was in their backfield regularly, they just can't tackle.

Drock,

SEALS say that you do not rise to the occasion, you fall to the level of your training.

Yes, we agree that Coach Kelly will have them properly prepared. Not to say there will not be mistakes and a learning curve, but we will all see a team that is ready to go.

Now that’s worrying to worry.

I’m excited to get going and honestly, am not really concerned with much of anything.
