The guy at Utah seems to be a good coach too

This seems stupid to speculate on because Aranda is one of the best but of course Venables would be the top choice. I would look at Jimmy Lake from Washington also. He always fields good defenses out west and he would open up the west coast recruiting pipeline even more.

Are there already moves in place? You don't have to be secretive DA. Tell us everything you know. Your reputation is on the line

Without thinking much, I would support stealing the DC from Clemson or Notre Dame.

A couple of things;

Do you realize that Venables makes almost as much as Aranda? So luring him away, if that's even a possibility, would take even more money than we're paying Aranda.

So that means the first time his defense gives up a first down, you guys would be crying about how this is a $3m dollar defensive coordiantor giving up first downs.

Second, he's said he's not leaving Clemson until his freshman son leaves Clemson, so there is zero chance of him being our next DC.

Vendables. He is THE best DC in the game.

Coachw ... the junior high football coach who thinks he knows more about defense than O and Aranda.

Morgan Scalley. He'd be my pick.

Ranked around 4th in total defense. 1st against the rush - 55.9 yards per game.

Jim Leavitt or Bryan brown would be at the top of my list. O likes to hire people he has history with though so not sure who would fit that criteria.
