I Would Rather Live/Die With Lee Than Go Through Another Jefferson Season

While there is trepidation with Lee based on the past, I really had gotten to the point that I couldn't take Jefferson anymore. I went through the whole offseason without any real sense of excitement for this coming season because I knew that we would have to put up with Jefferson's 8-20 for 95 yards over and over again. I had no confidence that he had improved or would improve, despite the reports. I tried to get excited before the Spring Game and then I watched him play and it was all the same.
I realized that Jefferson was who he was and while he has great physical ability, he cannot drive a team down the field consistently, even against the likes of McNeese St.
Then, when Lee was named the starter, I regained my optimism - not because I think that Lee is that great, but because he gives you hope. He might kill you with a mistake, but he can also move the ball consistently and make a big play with his arm.
I just want to see the offense move down the field. I am ready for the agony of the past 3 years to end offensively. I'm excited about the season and am hopeful that Lee will take us where we need to go.
Even if he screws up, I just want to see a passing game break 200 yards consistently. Lee can and will do that.

I would agree with you to a point...The other benefit is that ZM will see some action, whereas if JJ was starter, he probably would not.

Amen! Rewatching the games from last year on CST only reinforces your point. Looking forward to a change!

but we only had 2 losses last year, you're not a true tigah fan

Yeah, I want me some Lee like he played against La Tech two years ago.

In the words of Kige Ramsay...
I agree with this.

I was and always have been for lee. He may make numerous mistakes, but our offense clearly wasnt built for JJ. Either that or he is just awful (trying to give him the benefit of the doubt). I really have had quite a bit better feeling about the season now that JL is the starter. We can finally dish the ball to our play making wide receivers, our all American caliber TE, and our ridiculously deep number of RBs. JL can also throw some beautiful passes. JL throwing interceptions won't be losing us the game, but an offense behind JJ scoring minimal points will

I'm with you on this. JJ is what he is and he isn't a QB. THis has a been a couple of miserable arse seasons for the LSU offense and, like you, I just can't see him improving much. The Spring game in which he supposedly looked much improved was simply more of the same with JJ. When he did make a decent play all I could see was that it could have been a GREAT play and not just decent. Besides his piss poor mechanics and decision making, his leadership just never seemed to be there. The accountability never seemed to be there.
I hate that I'm seeing something positive in what JJ did, but I do. We may not be any better with JL, but damn, there's a chance.

As much as I defended JJ, it was because of guilt/innocence reasons, I always wanted Lee in.
I would rather Live/Die with Lee also.
I wish we would have given him more time to develop.
Green Thumb Up!

I understand that you had to spit JJ's cock out to come check the Rant, but would like to tell us why JJ is a great QB?

What did we go last year with JJ?.... like 11-2? I'd really like to see a 14-0 but if we go another 11-2 with Mister Lee under center, I don't consider that a failed season. People, get real!!

I'm hoping this is sarcasm.
I will pull for LSU no matter who is under center, but I just had no excitement for our #4 ranked team. I knew that we would win games against inferior teams in the last minute by the score of 20-16.
Several of the games we won last year were because Lee came in and saved us. Without him, we win only 7-8 games last year with all that talent.
Let Lee take the reigns and do his thing.
It's time.
