No need to do that, as I work commissioned sales. My boss will do that and replace me if I'm not cutting it. But I know that's just part of the way things work in the real world kjanchild. It goes with the territory.

Saban fell into our lap and wasn't really a star on the national scene at the time...I don't think he was even on our list until Sexton called

Saban was very highly thought of Fore. It was THIS guy that has the foresight to break the bank to get him here in the first place.

When we lost him we lost a bunch IMO.

I agree about Emmert...however, I don't remember our first contract with him being anything special, and specifically remember Sexton contacting LSU about interviewing Saban, not us going after him with a blank check. (couldn't find any old articles to back this up though)

I remember distincly where I was and how elated I was when they announced Saban was the new HC. I was off Oneal lane in the Wal-Mart parking lot grabbing a bite in my car listening to the radio. I remember him being pretty highly touted as being a defensive genius and recruiting guru based on what he was able to do with MSU competing with the other big boys up there. The problem at LSU has always been the board of stupidvisors as we like to call them, guys like Womack and his group didn't know their butt from third base about picking a coach, but knew how to turn a dollar into two dollars like nobody's business. Emmert showed what it took to get it done, and if we had him here now I would feel much more at ease right now, if an when this thing does go real far south if Miles fails to act on this.

yeah just $1.2 million which at the time was only behind Bobby Bowden and Steve Spurrier in all of college football. No big deal at all.

Conversely, Bertman got Miles for the same $1.2 tag four years later when college salaries had already skyrocketed out of this world (mainly because of the Saban contract).

Wrong, if I am paying thousands a year for tix and more into TAF, I am not going to accept mediocre play at best. Which could also have easily been a losing season because of all the reasons the "not true" fans mentioned on page 1. Just because you boo, want a coach fired, etc does not mean you are a fake fan. We can actually see things are terribly wrong and want the correct changes made to fix the program so 7-5 or worse every year does not become the regular. Another year like this IF no changes are made I promise I will not buy season tix again to support this kind of crap.

BTW if I am getting paid 3 mil+ a year and have lack luster performance week after week I would expect to have my arse in the hot seat and told if I did not turn things around in a hurry I would be fired. I can accpet that.

yeah, there was as much talk about that contract of Saban's making ADs everywhere nervous because it would cause them all to rise as there was about his Bama contract.

Totally agree the ship is off course but it hasn't sunk...yet! With the talent we could still be in the thick of things next year. The best in the west will probably be Bama. We should have beaten Bama real bad so...we are not that far away!

You are right but you can bet that Saban and his staff are not standing still. Saban has a reputation for getting rid of non productive coaches. They will be a stronger team next season. It's up to Miles to make the corrections necessary to remain competitive. He certainly hasn't done that.
I challenge you to watch Alabama's secondary vs Auburn in comparison to us vs Arkansas. Our guys have had three or four years of Mallory coaching vs Bama's two years coaching by Sharp.

Let me be the highest paid person in my field. Give me the best facililties and tools to work with . Then let me only suceed at my tasks 58% of the time in any given year . I guarantee you I would not be available for booing .

I can't believe how many of the so-called faithful has turned. How many have really thought about what happened to this team since last year?

1. We lost the best defensive player in college.
2. We lost SIX starters from the defense.
3. We lost a starting QB that was in the system for FIVE years.
4. We lost the QB's backup.
5. We lost our DC that was there for years.
6. We lost a receiver that was a starter since his freshman year.

I'm sure there are more points that I am missing. The point is we need to quit trying to bring this program down and start supporting it again.

7. This is our worst season since Dinardo left.
