I wonder how many teams are trying to copy LSU’s offense from 2019
Posted by GoDeepCoach

After our incredible 2019 offense, there has to be several teams pouring over game film and trying to implement our offense. Teams have always copied what works. Wing-T, wishbone, pro style, read option, spread. We did not create a new offense, we just perfected it. Don’t think anyone can do it due to virus, but they will given enough practice time.

Sure, just need 3 1st round WR, a 1st round RB, the best QB in college football.

Honestly I think what you saw was more LSU catching up to everyone else.
Wen didn’t exactly have some hugely new or unique system.
We did have dominant players to run it.

UGA is definitely trying to copy LSU's new offense but they don't have the QB or the same level of skill position players necessary to run it.

It was Joe Brady’s system with Joe Burrow and great talent. We’ve had the talent before, but not the system. Give Coach O all the credit for courage to change and let coaches coach. Miles would never do that. Coaches are full of pride and ego. They think they always know best. But Coach O was willing.

I don’t remember any team running bunch formations and throwing between the hashes like we did. Like over 30% of the time. Brady took a spread concept and added to it like no one else ever has

And an award winning offensive line and a tight end who's the offspring of one of the greatest receivers in NFL history.

Most teams just don’t trust their QB enough to do that.
It’s not like the concepts are brand new. Bunch formations aren’t new.
And there is definitely a Joe Brady Flavor to it, but we did a lot of the same things other teams do. Just a lot better.
Team will likely steal a wrinkle here or there but it’s not like inventing the air raid.
We also benefited greatly from having a TE who could block, run routes and catch and a RB who could run the ball, black and run routes.

And a te with hands like randy moss
Plus a joe Moore award winning line
Even with Brady this offense has a lot of live up to
Without a normal off season and possibly no non conf games to work on things it’s going to take some time to gel
Plus a coach without his head in the sand that knows his job security hinges on beating bama every now and then

LSU didn’t invent a new offense or do anything innovative. They just finally utilized all the weapons they have on the field and had an all time great QB running the show.

I think the OL was good but is kinda overrated
We weren’t great at times, we gave up a good amount of sacks and would have given up more of Joe wasn’t so good moving around the pocket.
He definitely made them look better. So did CEH.
But you know they were unfairly dragged last year when the offense did them no favors.

This may have been the biggest undercover key to the whole thing. LSU could keep the same group on the field and do so many different things in a hurry up setting where the defense couldn’t sub. If you got caught in a personel grouping that the offense liked, you were screwed.

quote:Or as that Oklahoma City sports writer wrote after the playoff game with Oklahoma which LSU won 63-28, "Going into the game I thought the Sooners had a good chance of winning the game. What I hadn't counted on was that LSU has three NFL ready receivers, an NFL ready tight end and a cyborg at quarterback throwing the ball to them."

And the best Oline in the country

Our offense wasn’t that complex it’s very simple and easy to copy. What isn’t easy to copy is having a Heisman QB, 3 first round WR, a first round RB and the best OL in the nation to go with a quality defense and the best cornerback to come through college football since Deon Sanders. Jimmy’s and Joe’s > X’s and 0’s every time.

The answer is 9 (nine).
If you could see my scratch paper it is most definitely nine (9).

UGA has some studs on that team. They don’t have a Joey B, but neither do we anymore.
UGA has plenty of talent on that team and access to plenty of talent in Ga and north Florida

UGA would have an amazing team if the coaching talent equalled the player talent

Y’all don’t remember Kirby saying UGA had all the same plays, LSU was just executing them better......
