To those of you watching this press conference, who still wants to make the claim that he didn’t care about winning and had given up?

What did you expect him say?

Oh I see, Lester. He was just lying for the camera. Maybe most of y’all just don’t have any clue about the fire he had for winning and the program.

Of course he wanted to win, he was a competitor just like most coaches, players and fans. He just made really bad decisions a lot of the time.

Seems like you’ll believe anything like you believed his team would be good this year too

People who thought he had given up aren’t worth listening to. Sadly there’s way to many of those on this board.

He certainly gave up on the idea that LSU should go to Omaha every year.

JHC Tigerdroppings broke Paul Mainierie. He all but said it in his press conference. The need for Skip to affirm Paul so hard confirmed it.

Yeah I’m so gullible for believing the coach hadn’t given up. I should’ve known the 50 posts about it after every loss came from the real people in the know. Define what you mean by believing this team would be good. I choose not to believe they are as awful as you and a lot of other posters kept trying to say. You just found out recently that Dugas doesn’t suck. Nobody looks to you as the standard for what to believe, sorry.

I agree. Just giving them a chance to stand by their previous claims.

People pushing the "he gave up" line are likely people who have never competed at a high level. CPM was and likely still is a competitor. He didn't ever "give up".

With his neck issues, he just couldn't be the coach that he once was or wanted to be. He gave it everything he had, but the neck issues limited what he had to give. He admitted that himself.

Yeah that’s perfectly understandable. It wasn’t what I was referring to. I think we all saw the repeated posts about how much he didn’t care and had given up during the season. They were usually followed by one or two of the same pictures of him in the dugout with a mask on that were supposed to be an example of his lack of caring.

He may have had the fire, but he wasn’t winning.

And yet still finished 3rd in SEC history in winning percentage behind Skip and basically even with Ray Tanner. I guess it depends on your definition of winning.

Not really sure what that even means, but alright.
