I've read a few post on here and some seem to be spot on. The same issue with the football team seems to be the same with the BB team, no offensive identity. The other glaring problem is no defensive identity as well. I'll admit I'm not an expert but at times both offensively and defensively LSU was clearly out hustled and out played. Coach Wade even looked confused. This team has no on the floor leader and the team plays as if they have no direction. I know this can't be the case but c'mon man, it really didn't look good except for about 10 minutes the entire game.

So many new players, takes a while to pull it together and make it gel. Let's see how this develops in February, when it counts.

So other than offense and defense, we've got this basketball thing figured out.

You forgot coaching....that's a joke. I'm not saying the team is doomed but imo they played with no motivation or direction for most of the game.

Only if you would say the same about football.

And in basketball they only have to stay one year, yet other schools get their team to gel with all freshman and play well, like Kentucky.

Lived in Waco for eight years and went to Baylor games
Sometimes these AAU dudes work out and sometimes they NEVER gel with the team (Rico Gathers)

The football team has an offensive identity and it's Joe Burrow.
This year's basketball team has no offensive identity whatsoever. It's just jack it up from wherever and miss, don't block on offensive rebound opportunities, no set plays.
Fire Ensminger now!

Kentucky and Duke don't seem to have a problem.

Other than the offense and the defense, though, things are looking good?
Psychtiger beat me to it.

Question for the OP.
The TV announcers kept commenting on how loud is was in the arena. Was it really that loud?
I definitely got my fill of "Whose Ball!". And it looked the locals took offense to the L S U chant that started near the end of the first half.

You've obviously not looked at some of these Kentucky teams in November/early December... Even teams that went on the final four or a title have looked disjointed in the early season

Why would I watch basketball before March?

I think it's safe to say that there is a small but growing segment that is questioning Wade's coaching and game management.
Interestingly, the same folks who said he was an Eddie Nunez hire when they thought he was second coming of Coach K, will flip that and make it all about Alleva if things go south.
St Mary's and Furman are not going to be easy games. Hopefully we'll see progress but I'm skeptical.

And that's completely unfair. Joe has done a great job. His search for the football coach was tremendous. That alone earned him the benefit of the doubt as far as I'm concerned. Screw interviews and negotiations. Just promote an assistant with no real football expertise.

If you think LSU could ever be KY or Dyke in b-ball you are deluded.

But how were the concessions?
