They proved me wrong lol

Well it was a stupid take to think a team with the 2nd best ERA in the best conference can’t get out of a regional lol.

At the CWS, if they were to lose early and have to play 4 or 5 games BEFORE the championship series, they will not do well.

Careful. That is exactly what we said about the 2023 team. Then we won 5 of 6 after starting 1-1.

It was madness in my car screaming down the road watching Frey clear the bases.

Starting pitching is solid. Middle relief has been erratic with a poor K to W ratio. Our best relief pitcher is now a freshman starter, and the other relief pticher (Cowan) has been rung up of late.
That will work in a regional or a super most of the time.

The way Omaha is laid out, it's not much different than a regional + a Super.

You do lose basically a day or 2 between, since week one (4 team double elimination) starts on friday, goes to wednesday and maybe thur. Finals start saturday.

You can do the same thing as a regional that first week, Eyanson and Anderson games 1-2, and end up in the winner's bracket with 2 games to win 1. That's going to be the goal, and if we can scrap through the one game without either, we should be good to go in the finals, where again you're looking at Anderson and Eyanson to win you 2.

I know, it rarely goes according to plan, but that is absolutely as good a shot as anyone left in the field.

If we make it to the CWS, I think LSU plays 2-4 games and is out. Not their year. I hate that, but i cannot see them winning it all.

I agree. I’m not “shitting” on the team or being a bad fan. Just being honest and objective.

All it takes is one for a team to get hot offensively and carry it a couple weeks. I’d love for that to happen but I just don’t see it

Skenes, Crews, Morgan, Cooper and White won’t be suiting up this go.

Well, you are making perfect sense.

No need to throw in the towel now WRT the CWS, but, we all know that it is extremely difficult to win it all.

I'm not saying we will win the CWS, but we definitely can.

Compared to 2023- no, we don't have Skenes. But Anderson is about as good as anyone in college this year, and Eyanson is right there with him. That's something 2023 didn't have.

We don't have the HR totals, but as far as bats- if Jones breaks out of his slump, he's as dangerous a hitter as anyone has. Frey seems to be joining him at that level. Curiel is maybe as good a pure hitter as anyone out there, and then you have Milam who seems to always play up in big games. And that's not discussing guys like Stanfield, who quietly is one of the better leadoff hitters in the country- but is batting 9th. Brown, who hits righties quite well. Dickinson, etc.

I mentioned it earlier, I'll say it again: if we get to Omaha there's a real chance we get out 2-0, because I don't think we have anyone guaranteed to beat either Anderson or Eyanson. And if that happens, we just have to hope we can get a win out of Evans/Shores/Noot/Cowan, with 2 chances to do so. That would put us in the finals, and depending on how it plays out, we may have Anderson and Eyanson going again.

I guess the question is, who is out there that you think will knock Anderson and/or Eyanson out?

That atmosphere is what makes LSU different.

When Frey gets the bases clearing double in the 4th, it was absolute madness. Along with every Evans K.

One I will not soon forget.

Funny anecdote from sec 124: We had a guy sitting by us who loves LSU Baseball but hasn't been to a game in years.
When Frey came up, I yelled out loud " we don't need a bomb just hit the Dragos sign Ethan!". It's something we always say when we need a base hit b/c of the location.
But this dude thought I was the Nostradamus of Baseball when Frey literally hit the Dragos sign.

I had no idea what would happen obviously. But the idea was solid, "swing for a basehit to the gap, don't worry about a HR".

This is speculative to an extent far beyond my capabilities.

Do you need really great pitching to win a game? I think the LR Trojans proved that you do not. If the opposing team strikes out and hits pop ups against average pitching, you can win the game. The other team's batters get themselves out.

None of Morgan, Crews, nor White are pitchers, which was what this was about. And I’ll take this pitching staff over that 2023 pitching staff - based on what transpired up through Regionals.
