Well he got a lesson to not try to extend a guy who hasn't started a game in 2 years and letting him walk the bases loaded before pulling him in game 1 of the CWS. He'll never do that again. We hope anyway. Totally fricked up a chance to steal a game we shouldn't have been in. Can't make mistakes like that in crucial situations.

I doubt it. His team got much farther than anyone predicted.

That said, it is infuriating at how terrible he is with in-game management.

Hey you forgot PM's spin cycle....where he throws players under the bus however he threw himself under the bus yesterday when he honestly said he was greedy and tried to stretch Reynolds to 4 innings.

Proud PM was honest and took the blame .......better than Les Miles

Outsmarted himself in the finals no doubt

maybe. you know, his pitchers were worn out. it happens. and his batters didn't come through. those were the differences. the manager really doesn't "push buttons" like some say.

sorry, but his demeanor on the bench sucks; does he ever get the players fired up? looks like he's always in a mind quandary trying to figure out his next move; he surely doesn't exude confidence to me and I sometimes question his decision-making

He isn't bringing in the most talented pitchers. Ya'll UF, TCU, have that crap in the bag. Do you realize almost every year UF has a staff rivaling Gausman, Nola, and Ronaudo. All on one team!!!!

Florida does a great job of developing their pitchers and they seem to get better every year. We've had some great pitchers under Paul. Not see they've developed as much as they should have after 3-4 years.

Sounds eerily similar to another coach that was let go recently. He had the same issue with football before fans got fed up with it.

I have been following LSU baseball religiously since 1986 and haven't missed but maybe a handful of games in over 30 years. This is by far the toughest one for me to deal with, even more than losing in 2012 to Bama. Great pitching beats great hitting they say and we saw that these last two days. I can not understand how a program like Florida can sign so many power pitchers but the majority of ours go pro. I'm not sure there was anything Maneiri could've done realistically to change this outcome. We scored 4 total runs in two games, not gonna win many like that. For starters though, he needs to hire some talented assistants for next year. I'm not blaming Gibbs one bit, just a program like LSU needs a big time hitting coach.

On the other hand though, college baseball is broken when a team batting .200 in the postseason wins the National Championship. To contradict myself because it's late and I'm angry though, they sure didn't look like a .200 club at times. Might be the meatballs we were serving up. We just couldn't jump out in front, had we did that I think they would've folded.

The cowardly nerdy know nothing sports Bar heroes and keyboard warriors are out in full forced

Manieri coached this team to within two games of a National Championships.

Go get a beer and talk your cowardly nonsense among yourselves

I know what you're saying, trust me I get it but you've got me pegged all wrong. I've played baseball all my life, been in that dugout, played division 1 baseball and coach baseball for the younger generation now. I recognize Maneiri did a great job, never said he didn't but at LSU he needs big time assistants to make the team even better

playing Coomes tonight

I won't hold this against CPM. You can't reasonably expect Coomes to make 2 errors out of the gate. He was replaced by Slaughter anyway and he cost us the tying run on another boneheaded play.

That's not a coach choking. The players have to perform, too.

Wasn't this team supposed to win it all in the beginning of the season?
