That every SEC school has a 2 deep that looks like LSU. Or that they all even have starters that look as good as ours on paper. I get that it’s only on paper at this point and when the games start every player most likely won’t be as good as we think they will be but this defense is as complete as could possibly be ON PAPER and I sincerely disagree that every SEC school can boast the same.

So you’re saying that out of all the top teams in the SEC and across the country, LSU is the only team with a group of complete stud athletes???
Come the frick on man.
This is baseball fan-level BS. Do you watch any other football outside of LSU?
You don’t even know the two-deep of any roster except for LSU’s, so please explain to me how you’re qualified to make a statement like that? It’s insane

Nope. I certainly didn't say that. UGA , Ohio State, and Texas most likely all have good depth. I disagree that ALL the top teams have this much depth and studs at every level. (On paper at least)

This is true. But I have followed LSU very closely for a very long time and the number of times LSU has had this kind of depth on defense can be counted on one hand. And those years that LSU had good depth were not during the transfer portal era where backups don't stick around. Gone are the days of Bama and UGA stacking 5 star after 5 star and those guys patiently waiting their turn. The fact that LSU seems to be 2 deep at every single spot with quality depth during the transfer portal era is astonishing.
So with all this knowledge I have garnered over the years, I conclude that not many teams (if any) have the front line talent AND depth that LSU will brandish this fall.

Once again, you say this without having any knowledge of other rosters (you even said this yourself). It’s just an absurd thing to say.
It’s the perfect example of looking at shite with purple and gold glasses on

Improved? Absolutely
More depth? Absolutely
Elite? I'll have to wait and see it

DT looks to have 4 maybe 5 guys that can play (McKinley, Gooden, Breaux, Guillery, and Mitchell) and McKinley could possibly be a real difference maker while Gooden seems to be a high level player as well.
this is the difference from recent years. an actual rotation of guys that he played significant snaps. big guys and "smaller" guys that can take on more or fewer snaps as situations or teams may dictate.
as I have said many times recently, talent is here. It is up to coach Williams. And I have every confidence in the world in him.

Yall are glancing over the word COULD in COULD BE. I am not saying they will be elite. I am saying that on paper they seem like they have the individual talent to be elite. individual talent is only half the equation.

By the end of the year, Delane and Haulcy will be All SEC. Pickett will be SEC freshman of the year. Mark my words.

And you morons are talking about having an elite defense despite never watching 75% of the players play a single down. Arch is going into his 3rd season and he's one of if not the highest rated recruits in history, literally had the highest QB rating in CFB last year and is heisman preseason favorite
Texas lost 4 starters on it's line, LSU lost all 5 given Chester changed positions(he was THE WORST starting C in CFB last year FYI)
Here's the difference, the Texas replacements all played very well last season and have multiple years of experience practicing/playing/building chemistry together as a cohesive unit
LT Banks 89.0 PBLK/81.0 RBLK vs Goosby 89.0 PBLK/67.5 RBLK
LG Conner 88.6 PBLK/68.3 RBLK vs Neto 81.2 PBLK/71.6 RBLK
C Majors 85.1 PBLK/68.5 RBLK vs Robertson 78.8 PBLK/71.1 RBLK
RG Campbell returning
RT Williams 77.2 PBLK/73.6 RBLK vs Baker 80.2 PBLK/64.9 RBLK
Meanwhile LSU's crew was GARBAGE and has 2 portals that are new to the system
LT Campbell 80.6 PBLK/69.7 RBLK vs Adams 70.2 PBLK/56.0 RBLK
LG Dellinger 80.0 PBLK/69.3 RBLK vs Chester 62.6 PBLK/48.2 RBLK
RT Jones 67.4 PBLK/61.0 RBLK vs Davis 74.0 PBLK/61.4 RBLK

OK then I will refute that VASTLY different opinion that you shared... (we all agree those 2 statements are essentially the same thing right?) Just about every top team doesn't have a 2 deep of starter quality players.

Once again, you say this without having any knowledge of other rosters (you even said this yourself). It’s just an absurd thing to say.
No it isn't. Its no more absurd than laying a blanket statement that "just about all" the top teams also have similar depth and talent since you have no knowledge of their teams either. matter of fact, I laid out a reasonable path of logic to how I came to my conclusion. You haven't supported yours at all.
Outside of this ridiculous argument we are having, if you are an LSU fan and can't get excited over this defensive group that we have in camp then you should turn in your P&G and stop being a fan. Whats the point in putting any energy into fandom if you never let yourself get excited or have joy?

With football it's all about how well you play together
A lot of the issues on defense over the last few years were miscommunications in the secondary IMO

Arch came from podunk high and has the Manning name. He has never played a meaningful snap against a good team. JB was in his 4th year starting for the first time had struggled a good bit out of the gate. Now, Texas only plays one of the top sec teams again this year, so they do have that going for them...but he is going to have massive growing pains.
You are also a troll, and not a particularly good one....you won't be here by opening weekend if you dont chill.

Kyle Williams was such an outstanding hire for the dline coach. Will be a future P5 HC.

The defense is deep. I feel great about the DL. Linebackers should be good, but our best two are coming off serious injuries. You have to hope they're fully recovered and back to normal. CB's with Raymond should be good. S is a question mark.

I’m very excited about this team
But acting like other teams don’t have the same type of athletes that LSU has is crazy man, that’s all I’m saying
