Our pitching was less than stellar against them in the series this year.

Skenes had arguably his worst game of the season:

HITS: tied for worst of the season
RUNS ALLOWED: tied for worst of the season
EARNED RUNS: worst of the season

If they pitch their top level guys in game 1 and they can get to Skenes like they did previously, things could get dicey.

Game 2 was a “shootout” with LSU losing 13-10. Looks like Kentucky was tied for second most hits on the season in game 2. Floyd pitched ok, but it wasn’t one of his better outings either:

HITS: tied for worst on the season
RUNS ALLOWED: tied for 2nd worst on the season
EARNED RUNS: tied for 3rd worst on the season

Of course, our pitching has been better lately. And hitting has seemed to find its groove. But Kentucky might have a bit of a blue print.

They still have to execute at the highest level. And nobody on that roster has ever played in a super regional, or a regional (before this year). And they don’t have much “postseason” experience in the SEC tournament either:

0-1 as #8 in 2023
1-1 as #12 in 2022
0-1 as #11 in 2021

2-0 is given for no one in post season baseball.

LSU will need their A game to get through this Super Regional. Doesn't matter who the opponent is.

Yeah absolutely, you should take out a 2nd mortgage and bet everything on it.

They play the games for a reason. TCU just beat the dogshit out of Arkansas twice. Penn and Xavier eliminated Vanderbilt. Charlotte finished Clemson.

No one is invincible.

No history at all for that program. UK already as far as they’ve ever been in the postseason. Only other SR in their history is 2017 where they went 0-2 against rival Louisville.

When we played them 3 games here during the season, and at a time when we were hitting better, we won 2 of 3, but one was by one run.
It won’t be easy

No given in baseball. I like our chances in game 1 with Skenes. Then Hurd and Floyd in game 2. Our bats are coming alive. I see LSU in 2. But, baseball is unpredictable. That is why we love this game.

You said a lot of things LSU did wrong in that series and yet they were still a dropped fly ball from sweeping the series.

You also left off the fact LSU ten run ruled them in game one. And if you say they pitched off then LSU scored 10 runs in the game they threw their “top level guys”

You can't leave out Jobert gifting them game 2 if you going to bring up winning game 3 by one run.

If you think 2-0 is a given, you don't understand baseball.

In baseball, the better team does not win sometimes!
At this point, all games are winnable and all game are losable

They threw two of their top 3 starters in game 3 not game 2.

I didn’t say this. Have seen it posted several times between last night and today though.

If the pitching shows up that’s been there the last two weeks then LSU will be in Omaha
