Brennan is serviceable enough at taking off and running downfield but he's a statue in the pocket. That's the problem, not downfield rushing. I don't know if it's slow feet or a lack of awareness but that ability to slide around and let the pocket reform around you is huge and he's not going to suddenly find it after four years in the system. It was a glaring weakness last year without a good defense anywhere in the SEC.

For the people saying that “scrambling a few times” is overrated, just ask them if Burrow had Brennan’s mobility do we win the natty in 2019? Do we keep drives alive against Bama late? Does 3rd and 17 happen?
You have to be able to call designed QB runs at crucial times, or have the ability to improvise. Period.
