That was our third loss of the year before we won the SEC west, we beat Tennessee in the SEC championship game, and won the Sugar Bowl in year two under Saban. I’m not saying we are going to do all of that in year two under Kelly but I remember all the local talk radio shows wanted Saban out after we had a terrible game vs Ole Miss.

I don't remember that, but I've never been one to listen to local sports radio because they are idiots

We had Rohan Davey at QB. That helped with the turnaround. We ain't got anything close to that at QB right now.

I don’t remember him wanting fired but it was as starting to feel like a mediocre 8-4 time program. But not so

I was a student in the stands… I turned and looked at my friends and said “you can’t win the SEC West with 3 losses”

I was wrong. Awesome back half of the season. Beating Auburn in the make up game and smoking a cigar on the field was pure joy. We didn’t tear down the goal posts. It was just a celebration.

Then we won SEC next week.

A guy who could have started for most any other team in the NFL, but just happened to be drafted to the same team as the best to ever do it

Idk if we win the west this year if Ro is under center, but we definitely beat FSU and at least keep it a game vs Tenn

Not sure about the firing part, but that game plan was dogshit. We couldn't be stopped through the air, but because Ole Miss was perceived to be weak against the run, we went away from our passing game and committed to the run.

Next to Joe, Ro is my favorite. Tough and a great team leader. He had reason to complain, but he just kept working.

I absolutely remember it. That's when Saban introduced the world to "The Process."

I don't recall anyone wanting Saban fired. But they were not happy with the "conservative" play calling by Jimbo. Particularly later in the game when LSU fought back to take the lead, only to have their next three drives go 3 and out, with fumbles on the next two drives after that. LSU seemed to have all of the momentum...then crapped all over themseleves.

LSU had only lost to Florida and Tennessee to that point. While disappointing, both were top 10 teams and schools LSU hadn't routinely beaten in a long time. In other words, losses to those teams were forgivable. The one to Ole Miss wasn't. The next week Davey and Reed lit up Alabama and LSU football didn't look back again...until Ed Orgeron decided he was going to show they world his football acumen following the loss of the two coordinators responsible most responsible (from a coaching perspective) for 2019

Here's the thing. Kelly's contract give him time and security to build his program.

He will get the necessary time.

But, he is not above criticism. We can look at bad decisions and still call them bad.

The 4th and 10 before half vs Tennessee was one of the worst in-game coaching decisions at LSU we've seen in the past 10 years. It was objectively bad.

Not playing Perkins was obviously a mistake.

The special teams has been historically bad.

Our WR's are being underutilized.

Brian Kelly still has my trust and faith and I will
Support him while also calling him on his shite.

All of these can be true.

I agree with everything you said. I like Brian Kelly when it comes to building a foundation of a program but I never cared for his offense.

Agreed but if he wins big idgaf.

I just want to see LSU win.

ETA: And I will criticize the things I believe that will cause us to lose. Special teams, passing game, etc.

No way expectations were so different then. Just the year before we storm the field beating a 3-8 Bama team.

Funny how the intelligence of the average LSU fan hasn't really increased in 20 years.

I would say it has decreased with TD being a big part of that.
