I remember the day I respected Lane Kiffin

It was sometime in 2009 when he said “ someone had to stand up to the Elephants “. He was the only coach who wasn’t affraid of Nick Saban! That meant a lot to me because of the hate I felt for Saban and Bama. If you remember guys it took a block of the game winning field goal by Mt. Cody to preserve the Bama victory over Tennessee that year. I knew right then he was a coach I admired. That was Kiffin first and only year at Knoxville, and I was relieved he left for USC. Thank goodness he’s in Baton Rouge, because I believe this winning may continue for several years.

Mine was when I understood he had gotten sober.
Doing something like that will set a man straight, especially if he has all the ability in the World and in the middle of his career.
You may not go in the right direction all the time, but you certainly eliminate 75% of the dumb shite you did which helps tremendously not just with work, but life and family in general and then everything starts to click around it.
To me he still has his best coaching days ahead of him because of this, and I was starting to become envious of Ole Miss.

Kiffen, comes from a rich football heritage in his dad. Who from all acciunts was a fun loving guy who could coach the NFL defenses like no other! Kiffen has always had an arrogant flair about his attitude. But so self destructive until he was broken as a man. Today's arrogance is more out of fun and games and to send a message too. We all know his dad helped him along his career path. Like when he got fired at Ookland he gets the TN headcoaching job....really? What, no one else deserved the job. Well, once he was broken he took the least job and converted them to winners and has done it ever since. Yes, he took on Sabin, "but also was time to go after 3 seasons."
