With all the shakeup at staff and player transitions I’d say 9-3 is good. They’e not a national championship program since 2007 and the sooner you realize that the better you’ll be.

I see alot of similarities in LSU this year, and Auburn last year.New transfer QB,nasty defense, and a different offensive philosophy (Stidam not a read option guy).I believe we will be pleasantly surprised with our run game.Auburn was talking about getting rid of Malzan after we beat them, and I believe they beat us this year, but we will rebound, and finish with 9 to 10 wins.

I'm good. I refuse to settle anything but better than what Miles was fired for. But, that doesn't really refute anything that I posted. All of these improvements to what would have been a 10 win team in 2015 and a preseason top 5 team in 2016 and 9 wins is a good season? Does that really make any sense?

The positive guys have been pumping that we are better at every position outside of running back and got rid of the weakest link which was OC. Are we being positive or making excuses? If Coach O and Ensminger are really as good as we've been hearing, 9 wins is not a good year with this much talent.

I completely agree...no reason at all to be anything but excited right now.

I say 5-7 worst case and 7-5regular season best case for regular season. UGa, Bama, Miami, Miss State, and Auburn are loses. UF and Arky are the toss up games.

Not a national championship program since 2007?

LSU played a rematch for the damn title on 1/9/12.

All went to shite from that night on.

And there will be no trending upwards with O as HC...unless we include perhaps not being manhandled and humiliated by the likes of Troy as trending upwards.

I predict 10-2... losses to Auburn and Bama. Anything worse I’ll be disappointed.

Any worse than 9-3 will be a failure IMO.

I have a lot of confidence in Ensminger and Aranda to get it done.
But what worries me about the team is that while the roster is very solid, there aren't many what you would call difference makers. None really on offense and just two on defense (White and Greedy W.). Hopefully as the season progresses more will emerge as generally happens.

Who will those big time players be? Perhaps Burrow, CEH, Chase, Lawrence, Chaisson, Tracy (fg kicker)?
or one or some of many other possible players. But we are going to need players to emerge and take it to the next level in the relm of Devin White and Greedy Williams or somewhere close to it if this team is going to accomplish things.

So what you are saying is that you think there's a possibility we are going to line up in a I formation and
just pound the ball? That's not happening whether we've actually seen this offense in action yet or not. With the personnel we have on offense it is not physically possible to run the same old Miles/Cam LSU offense

Let's hope the scrimmage stats are indeed bogus and we are capable of throwing the ball effectively.

It's because they didn't start this thread to get excited, they started it to troll for negatigers. It'll work too.

Yes could be many factors we arent in the know of why those passing stats were so bad, with drops being one thing that was mentioned. Could be some were thrown away to avoid a sack. The drops could have been mostly by players who are deep in the depth chart. Some of them could have hit the wr right in stride through a tight window that was just well defended.

You know how people say I stopped reading...well I stopped reading when you said we lose easily to bama and ga at home. When was the last time bama had an easy time in tiger stadium? Even in 2014, it was electric. It will be this year too.

Not worried about defense. I think burrows will be that difference maker on offense. Especially with Giles in the game. Hopefully the charges prove false, and Davis and Ingram return soon. Those two are pretty big for the O, especially Ingram.

I'm not overly concerned with scrimmage stats. Of course, there's always that small percentage in my mind that's worried that the stats are correct. But, overall I'm really not worried about it.

I know it's a natural thing to add an 's' to people's last name, just pointing out that his name is Burrow.

I agree with you on this one. I don't see either of those teams coming in and getting an easy victory.

Reason 1 - NICK SABAN WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ED ENSMINGER ! Tommy Tuberville told the Sec Country in an interview, he is exactly what Nick would look for, It ain't about the offense you run, it's about getting the most out of the players you have, I'm excited for LSU. He took a nothing offense at Texas A&M and went undefeated 10-0-1. Reason 2, for the 1st time in 10 years we have been doing some serious recruiting the trenches and LB's. 3rd Hopefully we will go into games with a game plan.
