Seems like Kelly put too much faith in players that ended up being shitty people when it was all said and done.

This has way more to do with Nuss than with Lacy. Sure you're going to get a drop every now and again, but he is the big play WR and Nuss has been incapable of hitting big plays. Lacy had no problem chewing up teams last year. He averaged almost 19 yards a catch last year with 7 TDs as the #3. Nuss doesn't give him a chance. He overthrows deep balls and just goes short to Anderson

Perhaps the opposing defenses were a little more concerned with the two first round NFL draft receivers, and the Heisman trophy winning run threat at qb on the field than Lacy.

Lacy isn't a #1. And this isn't hindsight. My post history shows I've been saying this all season.

He might be our #1, but that shows how devoid of receiver talent we are this year compared to what we are used to.

He was a liability with the drops last year. This year he has improved but is nothing more than a solid second fiddle receiver in the sec. Problem is we don’t have a first receiver.

He doesn’t focus enough on the play. He could be great, but he cares more about how he looks out there and showboating after.

GumboPot, Don't forget Lacy's "gun play" personal foul that very well could have cost us the USC game.

Hilton does not know when to jump for the ball. This is like watching a 4th grader. This is a fundamental that you learn very early. Almost instinct. What gives?

I'm not sure Kelly spends enough time getting to know the players as people. One of the downfalls to a "CEO" coach

Lacy’s hands and route running are suspect.

I'll get a little pedantic here and say that the hands issue is really a concentration issue, He looked to have that cleaned up early but has regressed a little. I know it is effectively still a hands issue but it is more fixable than the hands of stane issues you sometimes get. The route running is the same thing but that attention to detail (the concentration factor) is part and parcel of route running.

He will still get drafted highly based on athletic ability though.

NFL teams always figure they can clean those things up, they often do.

which is a direct result of the oline collapse. Mainly Dellinger gettin injured. We might as well be playing with no LG at all. I've never seen a olineman as bad as 65 play after play, all our opposition knows it and attacks that area. Oline is only as good as its weakest link, which easily means LSU has the weakest Oline in the SEC without Dellinger.

Anderson has become the best WR on this team, and I don’t think it is particularly close.

Said it once, I'll say it again. The pick play last week showed everything you need to know about Lacy. It was intentional and unnecessary.

With all of this being said, LSU has got to reload the WR room this offseason. It may take the portal to do so. Will Aaron Anderson be returning?
We will lose a lot of players on offense. I don’t see us improving without major portal additions. We will likely be worse on offense.
