I remember watching the 2000 game on satellite. It wasn't offered through regular ESPN or on demand, and I was pissed off (couldn't make the arena, I think my son was sick). I talked to the sales rep about it, and the guy told me the only way I could get it was to sign up for some big money sports package.

Then he told me there really was no minimum time to keep that package, and that they simply pro-rate the amount of time you were enrolled.

So, 2 and a half hours, and then I cancelled. I think it cost me about a buck

Wasn't too long afterwards that they started requiring you to keep things a month or so.

The Jabari smith funk dunk I end the half against Arizona was one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

Agreed. The pandemonium in the PMAC was amazing.

I'm not even a basketball fan but I got excited in 2000. I stormed the court after the AZ game and went to a bunch of others. I creamed my pants when Jabari did that fake pass dunk.

I think would made that team so "larger than life" is that it was the first time they were good since the whole Lester Earl thing.

The fans knew that too, listen to the crowd reaction
in the first clip against Grambling. LSU won that game 112-37 and that dunk happened in the 2nd half, it is still packed. Now, the PMAC can't even sell out when top 10 teams come in.

That season was more exciting to me than the 2006 final four team.

Yeh, pretty pathetic it's not even packed for a big game nowadays. That score for the grambling game is frickin wild haha

I have two vivid memories from that game:

1) The Jabari dunk
2) The old scoreboard reading LSU: 12, Grambling: 37 because it couldn't fit triple digits.

I was the most excited during the Ricky blanton - Shaq - Chris Jackson - Randy Livingston/Ronnie Henderson era. After they all left, the stromile and torris bright era wasnt as entertaining.

Stromile and Jabari era was as much excitement as any time in LSU bb history, those two guys were highlight films just about every game. Jabari's dunk is in the top fifty dunks of all time it 19 if you go to that link and click on top 50 dunks of all time in NCAA, Shaq is like 21. How Tyrus Thomas's dunk against Arky is not in there is a crime. That was a sick one he jumped above the square to get it.

Im a little older. I went to a lot of the games from both those eras and after watching Action Jackson and then Shaq terrorize other teams, Stro and Jabari didnt excite me as much. Even though I loved the Stro Show group also. Shaq >>>>>> Stro+Jabari

Vernel Singleton had as many if not more posterizing facial dunks than Tyrus.

Torris Bright was of that last true pgs we have ever had. He made the game easier for Jabari and Stro. Favorite LSU team of all time.

I did like those uni's from that time.

I wish CJJ would ditch those awful shorts that look like pentecostal dresses combined with the smedium jersey tops. Seems like that would be a disadvantage dribbling the ball with all that skirt in the way.

And the reason is simple. No Jabari Smith, Stromile Swift, Rudy Macklin, Howard Carter, Greg Cook, Leonard Mitchel, Jerry Reynolds, Shaq, Dewayne scales. You gotta have some marquee players.

I wish rnolan would update his YouTube account with the Arizona blowout/funk dunk game.
