They've played I believe 20 freshmen. And they've started three freshmen along the OL multiple times. That's all I know.

Hard to say unless you have intel from every team in college football. 14 freshman playing is more than I've ever heard of playing for a team in any season though.

The reality of the situation is they are a playing a few true freshmen in key positions but other than that it's way overblown. Freshmen playing in today's college football is not uncommon at all.

Idk but people act like 20 freshmen playing means 10 starting on each side.

Nobody needs 5 years anymore at LSU. If a guy isn't good enough to be gone by year 4, LSU better have recruited a younger guy that is better to take his place. We arent Iowa.

Not if they're special teams starters, or logging 10+ snaps a game.

27-28 freshmen is what I heard. Every recruit has played except Narcisse. Then add a couple walk ons and redshirt fr.

UGA and Miami played 17 freshmen in their season opener, just like LSU.

Those two teams are undefeated. LSU is, well, not.

Part of the reason we are relying on more freshman is depth. For example if Maea Teuhema hadn't transferred, you have one less freshman playing on the o-line.

I don’t think they’re necessarily a waste. Because of the attrition, especially at OL, since last November we needed several to step into the 2/3 deep.

But there are a few who played minimal snaps in blowouts and their inclusion in the total number does nothing but serve as a better crutch for those defending the total disaster that was the first month of the season. Three receivers are listed in that total of 20 and they’ve probably played a total of 6 snaps between them and haven’t played since BYU/Chattanooga. A few others only play special teams, and while they see significant time there they aren’t necessarily standing out. Their spot could probably just as easily be filled by others, but it wouldn’t make as good of a story.

26 freshman played in the Auburn game. Special teams sees the lions share, but plenty on O and D.

I believe the actual number is 29 if you count true freshman and RSF. That's pretty darn significant.

What's hilarious to think about was that not 6 years ago, Tyrann Mathieu was a Redshirt sophomore.

ETA: I just made myself cry a little bit that that was 6 years ago. Where does the time go.

22 freshman are playing during the game. They don't all start but are doing a good try to start so many.

Mathieu played in the first series of his first game, didn’t redshirt.
