2007 was the best example of this. It was actually a terrible season where LSU wasn't even bowl eligible, but Les Miles' numbers lie and that leads many to think that LSU has a national championship that they actually don't have. GREAT POINT.

There is really no point in comparing saban and miles. Saban is the better coach. Ask people across college football.

Now onto the more pressing issues. This is possibly the 3rd year in a row of LSU not living up to expectations.

Is that okay with yall?

Fine, if youre saying that he isn't underperforming this year, then he must've underperformed last year.

Met was an awesome quarterback, the DBS were great and ego plays snaps in the nfl, and the online had trai turner plus everyone this year.

Take your pick. He underperformed this year or last year. Or you are saying the players underperformed.

But please, enough of your threads.......

Irrelevant.

Of course. This isn't a pressing issue. It's an extra-curricular activity at a school. What dummy would get bent out of shape about such a thing?

And if they perform poorly, what happens?

Basically what do you mean by "is this ok with y'all?" What happens when something happens that isn't "ok" with you?

An then hope those the problems are fixed.

wow, you again....loves him some Saban.

quote:

A: 2 SEC titles and 1 national championship in 5 years, following a 15-18 3 year record by the previous coach for a program that hadn't won a conference title in over a decade and didn't win a conference game in the last coach's final year.

The SEC was a different league back then. LSU went into the SEC Champ game at 8-3 if memory serves me...for 2001. LSU had a good year in 2003...no doubt....but also severely underperformed against florida that year...I remember being at the game and even the Florida fans gave florida no chance.....

quote:

B: 2 SEC titles and 1 national championship in 10 years, following a 30-9 3 year record, including the first national title since 1958, from the previous coach

In the previous 9 years, Miles has won 3 West titles, 2 Sec titles, 1 NC and played in another. He has also beaten more top 25 programs than any other coach out there during that time, and we have already discussed his average finish in the rankings.

Saban, despite having the #1 recruiting class every single year, has won 2 SEC Titles in his 8th year at Bama now.....we have spelled out what Miles has done with this program over 9 years........ONLY TWO PROGRAMS in all of college football are ahead....and barely.....we show you number how Saban only had ONE team with less than THREE losses at LSU....ONE.....

Dude, go cheer for Alabama and Saban....something tells me that is who you are anyway.....you see cold hard facts, and you still argue. Saban isn't all you think he is and that is a fact, and it is about to be exposed

The Ole Miss loss last year was bad. I'm not sure who that was on....whether it was Mett trying to win a Heisman or something...I'm not sure...certainly if it was LSU for met to throw into double and triple coverage, that is on him. Was a very bad loss.

LSU played well in the loss to Georgia...this is when Georgia had all its players before the massive injuries...and it was on the road and Georgia won in the final seconds. No shame.

Alabama....nip and tuck into the third quarter...bama fakes field goal, game over....but again, how did LSU underperform @Alabama???? Alabama has the #1 class practically every year.

This year, we simply don't have an experienced QB. It makes ALL the difference in the world. You swap Prescott and Jennings/Harris and see what happens to both teams. Prescott maintains drives, completes third downs, keeps the ball, runs the clock, rests his defense.....LSU has not done that, at all....it's simply the difference right now. We see better QB play (and we will) and things will turn around quicker than some people want to see (the miles haters don't want to see progress).

LSU is young, too young. The season isn't over, and I suspect before it is some of you will be eating crow. LSU will be very good again starting next year for at least a few years.

I wish they had an emoticon with a knee jerking...that would be priceless.

What were your expectations kid? Seriously.

I know my expectations in 2012 were to win a National Title. Pretty damn close to it...in fact within a few seconds of it to be exact...hell of a game, didn't get it done in the end on defense....one of the better games I've ever been to.

In 2013, simply didn't have the db's until the end of the year...the Ole Miss game should not have been lost....other than that, losing to a Georgia team before injuries, on the road, in the last second....no issue with that. Losing at Bama, no issue.

This year, I still see LSU going 8-4.....that would be a good season with this group....

Now, for your hero, what is going on there? Lost to three straight ranked teams, quite possibly working on the 2nd year in a row of not living up to expectations. And, we are talking about the #1 recruiting class in the nation on average, not the 8th ranked one like LSU.....

I think Saban is a dick. I'm amazed the wheels haven't fallen off before now at Alabama, because I didn't think he could last this long.

looool you are ridiculous.

Is that the sentence you would use to describe Saban's tenure at Bama if your life depended on you being honest about it? No. You are cherry-picking facts to obscure the truth.
Just like Miles defenders always do. "Don't mind what your lying eyes are telling you about what LSU looks like year in and year out on the field. Look over here at this sparkling W-L record (and ignore that it's inflated by cfb going to a 12-game regular season in 2005). Never mind what you saw in 2003. LSU was never really that good before Miles got here and saved the day by fielding teams that, year in and year out, make you go WTF all game long and suck all the joy out of watching LSU to the point that people can barely be bothered to attend SEC home games."

The problem lies in the DEFINITION of underperformed..

if you look at his OVERALL record he has done well.

if you look deeper at specific situations and years and relative talent, then has not done as well as he should

only my perception, not saying I am right
but I seem to see a pattern of:
URGENCY followed by COMPLACENCY
and then back again

almost as if he does not get overly involved until the wheels come off

..fixes the problem and backs out again
