This situation is starting to remind me of Arkansas in the mid 2000's. Nutt had 5-11 two year conference stretch and the fans wanted him out. Understand, recruiting to and winning at Arkansas is much harder than Lsu so 5-11 is about like your 08 and 09. Arkansas has about as much NFL talent as Kentucky.

Fans were so upset they could not be happy with the fact that the rebuilding those years resulted in a 7-1 conference record and west title the 06 year. Not many SEC programs have ever gone 7-1 especially a bottom feeder. Before you start causing alot of problems and negativety for the program, assess poor clock management for what it is, which rarely loses a game anyway. Arkansas fans ran Nutt off to a division rival and ended up hoping to hire a career assistant before Petrino fell in their lap.

If you are not 100% sure who your coach might be, hang on to the man you know can recruit and you know can win you a national championship.

Before you start showing Nutt the love, remember you started the year ranked #5 and now have the same record as LSU. You guys were lucky to come away with that win the way we were lucky to win against MSU and Georgia. Its easy for you to support your coach but if we had managed the clock better you would be posting on your board how Nutt must go.

I don't think there's any way Les Miles can win another national championship

It seems you can predict the future. Can we go to Vegas together? We can make millions...

Oh crap, an Ole Miss fan is throwing a bone and every simple mind is going to jump on it. Here they come with the love. Too predictable.

Funny how all these fans of other SEC West teams want us to keep Miles. Doesn't that tell us something?

The place recruits itself. I am convinced we would get top 10 classes with just about anyone. Players have been coming for LSU not Les Miles. Thanks for the advice, congrats on your SEC co-west championship circa '03.

This what LSU fans thought about LSU when they fired Charlie Mac. Anyone can win 8-9 games at LSU. Yeah, how did that firing work out for LSU until they hired Arnsparger. Then LSU had another long drought until they hired Saban.

That was a different time...things have changed. Thanks for the history lesson though. Its also amazing how many fans Miles has at OM, Arkansas and Bama.

You do realize we hired a coach that never coached a game because he died in a plane crash and had to find a replacement for him. Even he went to the Orange Bowl in 1982.

Joe Dean held LSU back a decade. I fn hate that dude forever.

I don't think he'll win another SEC Championship or even division title.

We would never have been in position to win that game without great coaching.

yeah, that worked out so badly for them.

hint: they have a better coach than you.

If LSU fires Miles, we will probably have a better coach than you too, so thanks but no thanks for the advice

He didn't say that anyone can win 8-9 games at LSU. He said:

And yes, it does recruit itself. We've seen that with the past 4 or 5 coaches. Good recruiting and bad coaching. Except Saban of course, the greatest coach of all time.

No it doesn't. Miami thought the same thing. So did Notre Dame, Nebraska, Washington, Syracuse, and every other historical power. The schools do not recruit themselves, and to believe so is just pure delusion. USC in the 90's did not recruit itself. Michigan, the winningest program in history, cannot recruit itself.

Players care less about the school, and more about the coach. Recruits like Miles, so do their parents. HE brings them in, not the program, the school, facilities, etc. Those are just bargaining chips. And I can guarantee you, the fans sure aren't bringing them in.

Bottom line, we lost. It happens. Even the great Joe Paterno and Booby Bowden have only won two NCs in their entire careers. We competed for the west, and lost it. Saturday had minimal impact on our season. Should Crowton go? Yes. But Miles needs to stay. He is the program. And he brings in the recruits.
