Not that it means anything . . .

but you do realize that after UF won the NC in '96, they lost to us in in TS in '97. When UF won the NC in '06, they lost to us in TS in '07. When UF won the NC in '08, they . . .

last year was all about breaking trends. Interception. Carries. Fumbles. Never lost to bama in 6 years? lost to them last year. thought we beat Arky? nope, Ole Piss? Nope, Thought we lost at auburn? Nope. Troy would have been an easy game? nope.

On paper, they seem unbeatable. Good thing the game isn't played on paper

So true. We have a lot of returning players and a hungry team this year so I like our chances as well. Remember, the lizards lost to Ole Miss last year so they are beatable.

Florida will be very experienced and tough on defense, for sure. But the question "how many returning starters does LSU have?" can be deceiving. Let me ask, how many starters on defense will LSU have in 2009 that are true veterans? Maybe they weren't starters, but they saw enough playing time to be considered a veteran player. In other words, I would consider Pep a replacement, but I might consider Sheppard a returning player.

Just because all the starters return doesn't mean that Florida is going to have the same chemistry. I know that LSU's situation was different last year because of Pellini leaving and Malleveto, but look at how we all thought LSU was going to be badass last year at this time at defense. And last year's defense was barely a shell of the 2007 defense, even with most the starters back.

Bring it on! We will be ready this year. Harvin was the one guy I was scared of and rightfully so. IMO, without him, Florida loses a lot of steam.

They do lose a lot of steam. However, I'm not sure if it's enough steam to keep them from going undefeated...

Florida will come to Baton Rouge 4-0, having waltzed by Charleston Southern, Troy, Tennessee and Kentucky. They will be feeling as if a return to the BCSNCG is their birthright, and that all they have to do is show up and they will get a win (a bit like our defense last year). They will not be ready for their first serious challenge of the season.

UF's LB's and DB's are just sick. DL will be better. Why, I haven't been this confident of a repeat MNC since the spring of 1997.

I guess Tebow will be getting alot of phone calls again the week of Oct 10th. And if I were Les, I wouldn't punt the ball the entire game.

Les to team: "Florida destroyed us last year in front of a national TV audience. They're coming into our house this year. What are you going to do about it?" That should be on the mind of every Tiger player.

I'd still take the field against them, but this is the only time I can think of where it even might not be insane to think otherwise.

On second thought, it probably is still insane to think otherwise.

Only 2 or 3 players arent returning on Florida's offense. They will be sick this year.
