If the ref hadn't caught their own error not knowing 2 separate rules that stopped the clock? Ok.

Also, LSU got that delay of game after the timeout because the same idiot officiating crew failed to re-set the play clock after said timeout.

You really don't know much about football and clock management, do you? LSU managed the clock exactly the way they wanted to and the only downside was they only got 3 points instead of the 7 points everyone wanted. They kept TCU off the field and LSU scored. How could that be wrong? Bad officiating exaggerated the issue, but that was not Miles' fault, it was the officials' fault. By the way, I was at the game and the officials started the play clock too early coming out of the timeout causing the delay of game penalty. That also was not the fault of LSU, but the clock official. Miles tried to argue that point, but was denied. Mett was amazing and totally in control. I have confidence in him and the offense. It is a shame that you listened to the game on TV and heard the announcers speak when they didn't understand what was going on on the field.

Miles has had clock issues since his ok state days. I've given up on anything changing and just brace myself for it every week. Every coach/ team has weaknesses and that is ours.

Do you have any idea how unbelievably stupid it sounds when you say this:

quote:

These "Scratch your head" moments from Les Miles are what pisses fans off.

Followed by:

quote:

His record speaks for itself, he is a great coach, a good man, and an even better recruiter,

So do you want a disciplinarian who can't fricking win? I'm sure old fat frick from Kansas is available. Maybe we could hire that new fat frick they have, Charlie Weiss.

I just felt we missed a golden opportunity for a touchdown there, 1st and goal from the 2.

we did miss a golden opportunity to score a touchdown there but it didn't have anything to do with time management (other than the completely stupid delay of game coming out of a time out which is a pretty major mistake). Other than that you couldn't have played the clock better. Left TCU with no time.

Bottom line is I want him to annihilate Saban.

coaches can't think like you or other fans. they have to get the team to play one game at a time and have faith in the moment. clm can't live in the fear that you have. if you have fear of a future game, you can't focus on the coming game.

clm is a brilliant coach. his winning percentage shows that he know a lot more than most of the posters on here. the negative posters don't give a shite about the things that make coaches great.

they care about their own fears. re-read the rants on the scoreboard during the game. assrants didn't like the individual plays when in hindsight we all see it was part of a gameplan.

coaches have to live and think in gameplans and big coaching philosophies. fans that think in terms of little plays are using very small brains to criticize small plays in the whole season.

yes, it is the details, but coaches have to prepare for the future, not live in it and then criticize it.

one thing you might notice about the rant, there are lots of very brilliant posters on here that you can learn from. I realize a lot of the intelligencia have been laying their money on the game for lifetimes and they don't begrudge their one loss, because they have to be on their toes to play the odds in the next moment.

lots of very brilliant players here getting and sharing info. the percentage of negative ranters is almost equal to the percentage of crazies in the real world.

haters gotta hate.

Did I say It happens every game? No. But a lot of games, several a season. It's why a lot of our games come down to the wire even though we dominate the whole game against lesser opponents.

Not sure how the clock went from 1:06 to 0:24. There is a 25 second play clock so I doubt your times are accurate.

Maybe something happened with the play clock, but this is what I saw.

My bad, I thought this thread was about clock management issues catching up to us.

Maybe you should find another thread...

How many exactly?

Wouldn't even YOU have to admit scoring immediately before the half was well done? No kick off...no chance for a run back? You didn't like the time management at the end of the game? Controlling the clock until it was time for the kneel down? That was bad for you?

I have to agree with you on that one. We are by damn L S fricking U and we should beat every body by at least 100 points or there will be hell to pay on a message board. We'll get all of the rest of the break room football experts to come here and blister the coaching staff for ruining out lives.

So you REALLY think clock management is the reason we (sometimes) don't completely blow the frick out of everyone?

Play clock after a play where the clock doesn't stop is 40 seconds, not 25

This is exactly why CLM was going bat shite on the refs after that delay of game. Those stupid fricking refs never re-set the playclock after the timeout right before the other half time debacle, also 100% ref created. That ref crew was horrific. And Gary Patterson's clock management was putrid.

Why so defensive when somebody points out a weakness? I said nothing about the half, my issue this game is delay of game penalties after timeouts. How many times have we seen that? And did you miss the Clemson game, where all we have to do is milk the clock and win the game, instead we throw 3 quick passes and give them the ball right back with time to score. There are many examples and like I said, most of the time it doesn't cost a win, but a lot of times costs us points right before half or gives the other team points before half. I saw the same type mistakes in some ok state replays. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Did we or did we not score on that drive? We scored, so please stop the madness!
