Have you never made a mistake at your job or during fantasy football??
I don't call my fantasy football players by the wrong names. It's also not my job to get their names right. If I continue to make the same mistake at my little nothing job, I would get fired. That's not someone in the public eye in a high profile position. The comparison is absurd.

Not a fan, but he's here for good.

Just some of of the TV broadcast groups of other SEC schools bear this out much less radio

You clearly never drafted TJ Houshmandzadeh in 04

More time he spends here the bigger fan he becomes.

I don't know if that's a shot at hawthorn...but I loved that guy and his flaws. You can't fake passion.

Don't know how old you are and you have a right to your opinion. Jim may have missed a few things, but the passion was real. Most of us old timers (late 50s) loved him. I know the younger guys didnt.

Chris is very good at what he does. People just expect too much. As bad as some dislike Chris on this board it was much worse for Jim towards the end. Posters just dont remember. Things I didnt like about Jim was his accuracy went to shite. While his passion was great sometimes he would be like a nega tiger. You would be listening to the game thinking we were down 10 but in realty we were up by 10.

I dont hate the guy or question his loyalty to LSU. He is boring. And I'm guessing there is a fine line between "boring" and "professional".
Listening to him and Thompson on a call is unbearable. And if it wasnt bad enough they now added a third terd to that punchbowl.
He is great for basketball, a C in baseball and an F for football. LSU can do better.

I’m 41. I loved Jim—he made me want to go into broadcasting. I also really like Chris and try not to compare the two.

tRant: Jim Hawthorne sucks. We’re a national brand and we need someone more professional than Mr. JACK HUNT!!!
What kind of philistines had this opinion? Jim was a national treasure, just like Lyn Rollins who should have been his successor.

People complain about everything. Chris Blair is great.

Except when I’m watching when Ben is on the game broadcast, I very much enjoy listening to Chris and think he does a good job. Ben’s attribute is he really, really knows the game and communicates the nuances well.
Not everyone can be a Vin Scully and Chris does a fine job.

Yep.
Many times the play is actually going on and he's just rambling and you don't know what is happening until he gives you the conclusion of the play.
He's pretty good at basketball which, IMO, is the hardest sport to call given (1) how free-flowing/fast the action is and (2) court-side is not the best POV to get a full picture of what is happening.
