See this link for the pecking order of the bowls:
Bowl Order
Seems to be little doubt that this will be the first year that the SECCG loser goes to the BCS. SEC has 6 bowl eligible teams after that.
Cap One has first choice. It has to pick the next best team or a team within one win of that team. Available teams: UGA and Ole Miss. Likely pick: UGA.
Outback, Chic and Cotton work with the league office to pick the next three. Cotton has preference of teams from the West and Outback has the preference of East teams. They cannot select outside their assigned division until the other bowl has picked. Chic then gets the leftover.
Likely Pics:
Cotton: Ole Miss
Outback: S.C. or LSU (I can see Outback taking LSU but it really is a toss up. I have no idea how S.C. travels)
Chic: Remaining S.C. or LSU
The NCAA requires that all teams with records above 6-6 must be placed into contractual bowl games before teams with 6-6 records (Bylaw 30.9.2). Because no other teams in the SEC have 7 wins it seems to me that the farthest LSU can fall --- assuming both Bama and Florida make it to the BCS --- is the Chic bowl. Vandy and Kent would then go the the Liberty and Music City bowls. Now, if for some reason both Bama and UF don't make the BCS then LSU could fall to either Music City or Liberty.
Hope this helps.

If Florida beats Bama. I cant see Bama dropping out of the BCS with one loss against a top 5 team. Should Florida lose then would they be kicked out with 2 losses, 1 being against the #1 ranked team? Good question. Very possible
Go Gators!

Fla and Bama will both be going to a BCS game. We are a lock for the Peach unless Outback selects somehow picks LSU but I think they take a SEC East school.

my thoughts exactly, we have nothing to lose, we've already lost respect following the last 2 games, lets see if we could pull a huge upset
Because nothing says "don't sign with LSU" like 77-38.
It would be like getting beat up by two of your nerdier classmates, only to get beat up by a bigger, meaner classmate, who in turn places a "Kick me...I'm with Coach Miles" sign on our backs.

Dear Cotton Bowl,
We do not want to play any big 12 team or any school that runs air raid.
Signed, the LSU secondary

I haven't thought this way in quite a few years, but I would really be afraid for lsu to face texas tech. Lsu's biggest weakness is texas tech's greatest asset.

Nah, we'd just go into a prevent on the first play and dare them to run.

first quarter, first and 10, lsu in prevent defense...fourth quarter first and 10, lsu still in prevent defense having given up 1000 yards passing and loosing 30-0 (with 30 field goals).

That's right, mmtiger. It's not fear, it's just facing reality. In this case, discretion is the better part of valor.

Yeah, there was once a time when I had the attitude of Chicken...anytime, anywhere, anyone!
To think that there was a time that I wanted to play USC (and it wasn't last year either)...

Me too, and not too long ago. I am just so surprised by this year. Really! Think about it, almost all administrative and coaching decisions made by Les Miles have been effective (going back to keeping Jimbo Fisher and hiring Pelini).
This year, the defense at the hands of co-2 has been amazingly embarrassing. It looked like Lou Tepper defense.
I really have no idea what Miles was thinking...NO idea.

As long as we're not in the independence bowl I don't care. i don't care what are chances are against anybody we play. I will wear my purple and yellow the day of the bowl game.

I remember after beating Notre Dame how scary this team was. We would have beaten any team in the country that day. Then we win a NC. Now we fear TT who let Baylor drop 30 on them, albeit a letdown game. I wonder what is going through the players mind's right now

I want Georgia Tech. We could show them world what Peveto and Mallory can do with a month's preparation.
Bring them on! LSU will be a different team come Bowl time.
