The reality is that college baseball as a whole is not nationally popular. So it won't get more attention on a national level.
But it will for the local media and everyone who is a fan of LSU sports. He is the best coach in LSU history. Not just baseball. The entirety of the athletic department.

This, very few people outside of the SEC care and Skip while transcendent in baseball really didn't do anything noteworthy to regard national attention.

This is just incorrect. He hired Nick Saban and then Les Miles. Skip completely transformed LSU athletics into what it is today.

He didn’t hire Saban and nobody outside of LSU fans and a small set of others across the conference even know he was the AD.
He will get a ton of coverage locally but don’t expect to see a big segment on ESPN or anything.

I think Jacques will probably put together a retrospective. It seems like something he'd do.
I'd love for them to get former assistants along with former players. And even get some former athletic dept folks to talk about his time as AD. If you look at all the assistant ADs he had working for him, a ton of them went on to run their own programs at other schools and had a lot of success.

It will definitely get at least mentioned on the big time shows I'm sure. I woke up to an ESPN notification by Pete Thamel and his stuff always gets national attention. I don't think any of the national people can truly wrap their heads around what he meant to the university, but he'll definitely be news worthy

College baseball is still niche. It’s the offseason. You’ll see more accolades pour in once the season starts and people like Ben McDonald share their stories. With football starting up, this story isn’t going to take center stage with sports media.
