I have never seen a team that can’t execute a pitch out!

That was embarrassing as hell!

Why did no one go to the mound and talk to her after she threw the strike? Coaching decisions in both games today were just perplexing.

That was just poor execution by a freshman pitcher and utility catcher, never send 2 runs given up on an at bat that was supposed to be an intentional walk

No it’s literally not. It’s throwing a softball underhand to a mitt high and outside as slow as you want. That is player execution.

Don't waste your breath.

It looked like Bad News Bears when Kelly reached across and hit it

Did no one else think they were trying to trick the batter?
Literally every single pitch throw was a strike/borderline pitch… I almost think they set up the pitch out to try and lure the batter to sleep and sneak in a K. It just didn’t look for even a second like the pitcher was actually trying to throw it wide.

No it’s not. When she saw her throw it to the back stop and saw her catcher standing with her arm out and her glove in the middle of the strike zone and the pitcher throwing to said glove she should have stop the game and either put in the senior pitcher to do the job or explained to her pitcher and catcher what to do. That’s coaching. Stop making excuses for her because you like her. Also she coaches the pitchers it’s on her.

Coach Torina said in the post game presser they really don't work on that a whole lot and that Berzon has probably never done that in her career

Well that ‘s worse . How about putting in your fourth or fifth year senior to execute the most critical point in the game. Let’s let a freshman stand there and make the same mistake over and over again while you sit on a bucket watching your team emplode.

“That’s just softball”

Damnest thing I've ever seen.

You do not even have to pitch anymore for an intentional walk!! That is the worst part!!

In college softball you must throw the pitches to intentionally walk a batter. That rule has never changed.

Coaching: is having a runner on 1st, 2 out in bottom of the 7th, your #9 batter hitting .227 with a 3-1 count not taking the pitch with your #1 hitter up next.
Do you not make her throw 2 strikes.

Sad thing is Torina is the pitching coach but the pitching is where they have lacked the most the past couple of years
