1st game since January. You must not like football

VA Tech cheated and did the same thing to LSU back in 2002. I was at that game.

Pretty miserable watching Saban & Co. get thumped 26-8 in Blacksburg.

Hope the FSU game doesn't pan out the same way.

Now they obviously didn't get past page of 2 of either the defensive or offensive playbook. But we'll have a good look at their personnel.

Couple of my takeaways:
- starts with the OL... They move well and they pull ALOT, and do it well. Right side especially. LT is technically unsound with his upper body and has trouble protecting his outside shoulder. 3rd string C did well... but it was Duquesne. Noticed LG making protection calls some too. Be careful keying on those pulls, Norvell isn't scared to use that as misdirection but could be disasterous with our speed.

- DB play should look familiar to us; they are handsy and not scared of contact-as-coverage.

- FSU has H-style crossbars... didn't realize that.

- I didn't see a great runner in their QB (then again neither is Bo Nix). He's not slow, was making decent reads on read/sprint options, but lacked vision and acceleration was average. God I hope I don't regret typing this one.

- Their LBs looked really good. Our OL will have their hands full with them. They weren't running around blocks; still have to remember it was Duquesne. But can still see how they play at least until you plant them a couple times.

Yep. LSU losing to UCLA last year had nothing to do with them getting a week 0 game and everything to do with being woefully unprepared and having a head coach already checked out

It really has no bearing on this game that Florida State gets to play today and seems like a pretty lame thing to whine about

That Va. Tech team had a lot studs on that team. And I think that was Sabans first or second year I'm not sure. But you're right I think if we played them again at the end of the season, on a neutral field, we probably curb stomp their arse

Who is making excuses? I just made the point that it gives the other team a competitive advantage.

We should be happy it's Florida State and in New Orleans. If it were a better team, I think we'd all be a little more concerned.

This is your ready made excuse if we crap the bed. We are far better. They can play a thousand shite schools and if we lose it's our own fault. Nut up.

And they weren't exactly calling a vanilla gameplan last night either. Trick plays, lots of passing, etc. Trying to get the home crowd pumped up about FSU but they also gave LSU coaching staff a lot to look at too.
