This could backfire majorly on Texas Tech. It’s in their best interests long term and in good faith to suspend Sorsby for the upcoming season. Who are Texas Tech going to play(outside of conference) if a lot of schools refuse to play them in all major sports? I think most schools would not want to go down that road.

Not sure, but push comes to shove and I don’t see any playoff committee ban coming and it’s not like a team would boycott a playoff game to prove a point.

It would be a big deal if schedules werent made years in advance. nobody is going to take an L to prove a point. it would be a forfeit loss if some team took a stand

You gotta draw the line somewhere. Allowing this kid to play jeopardizes the integrity of the game.

What are they going to do when the SEC and other power conferences threatens the same thing to TT? That effectively removes them from the playoff picture.

You think that the SEC would sit out a playoff game against Tech to prove a point? Unless you think the committee bans Tech, which would be the lawsuit of all time.

I don't like the Sorsby news but the league throwing a hissy fit and mandating the schools to not play Texas Tech is kind of a bitch move. The Big Ten just took a big black eye for a school and turned it into an even bigger black eye for the entire conference.

Would be really funny to see all the leagues ban TT from playing them so then they play no P5 teams for the SOS for seeding in the playoffs.

I kinda agree with them. If you're going to allow Sorsby to play why should anyone abide by NCAA rules at this point? Make your own rules is effectively what it is right now. Wait until someone files something against NCAA for missing playoffs.

LOL would have been the perfect storm if we got him. Of course I can’t get behind trying to defend betting on your own games.

"In other sports"? Per a story on Yahoo Sports, there were several girl's softball teams that backed out of playing them this past next season. There were numerous accusations that Tech's head coach was violating the rules re portal transfers, to the extent players were being invited.....and accepted....to campus while still enrolled in their present schools. Women's basketball has also taken off to new heights the past few seasons.....a coincidence?

I can see TT being upset after paying big bucks to get him, but I would imagine there is a clause somewhere in the contracts that gives everyone an out that contributed and possibly even something requiring him to pay back any money already received.

Just wait until they lose a close game. His teammates will think he’s throwing the game

I don't really blame Texas Tech, they're stuck paying the guy $5M, might as well try to get your money's worth, but they also have to reap the repercussions of what they're doing. Texas Tech is in a no win situation.
