I guess Matt Flynn was better than JaMarcus Russell after all

Boy was I wrong on that one. Flynn's got almost a third of JR's career TD passes today.

yay lets throw russell under the bus.

Yes he is. But still jamarcus was the better QB in college. That's the only thing to argue. Matt flynn is the better QB now. Case closed

Makes you wonder how good Lee is too, but I think Les is right with JJ.

Please don't compare lee to Flynn

He may win the MVP for drew brees today with this performance

yea. just think how many championships we would have won if flynn started all those years

This is dumb. There is a huge difference between "was" and "is".

This is because QB's never improve or get worse over the years.

Jamarcus was still better in college.

This is true. I always questioned why Jamarcus started ahead of Flynn, in was nice in 06/07 to have Flynn. Its a shame his career was wasted otherwise.
Jamarcus was like a circus act, I remember he tripped constantly on the hash marks. Might have been an early reaction to cough medicine...I also remember his appearance at the 07 Natl Championship game in his pancho and Bama bling what a classless act of representing LSU.

And undefeated seasons.
And 1-loss seasons.

the nfl separates talented passers from balanced qb's rather quickly. his performance against a bad notre dame team and subsequently being drafted #1 (+ $$$$$$) by the raiders was a worst case scenerio for a kid like Jamarcus.

Both were great QBs, 1 in college, and 1 in the NFL.

I've got some spreadsheets that show that JJ is better than Flynn...

Jmarc was a great QB at LSU and in no way did Flynn deserve to start over him
Jmarc '06 - 232-342 67.8% 3,129yds 28TDs 8INT
Flynn '07 - 202-359 56.3% 2,407yds 21TDs 11INT
