We're loaded again this year.

Last year, there was 1 team in all of college football that could stay on the field with our team for 4 Qtrs.

We played them twice and we split. Unfortunately, the one they won comes with the real hardware.

We're going to be scarey good this year, especially if Mett is anything close to what we think he'll be.

I get what you're saying, but enter Tharold Simon, Jalen Collins, Freak and Ego.

Next man up baby.

Brakes are on and gas pedal is depressed. Smoking the tires and ready to start running all over these fools.

Won't be able to muster up nearly enough offense.

Will be tough, but should be able to control the clock with the ground game and then get them deep on play action.

I get a Michigan Fab 5 vibe from this team. Last year we weren't really expected to run through the schedule, then we dominated with a young team full of swag, only to come up short. I see us getting back to the title game....hopefully we finish the job this time.

Why?
Agree we've got a good shot. Not saying we can't make it. But sometimes teams underperform when they have too many expectations placed on them, and overperform (like last year), when they weren't expected to win it all.

Just sayin', no need to predict 14-0 in the summertime. Let's see how the team looks in the fall.

I really hope you don't go around saying this. Unless PP7 had a pick 6 we still have lost 9-0 or 12-0

There will be many more threats in the SEC other than Bama this year. We'll need to bring it every week.

PP7 wouldn't have made a difference to the end result against Bama. We couldn't move the ball on them, we couldn't complete a forward pass and our o-line got lit up.

Hopefully, Mett gives us a legitimate vertical passing threat and defenses have to play us more balanced. If so, I think an undefeated season is within reach, though I expect Bama to be another dogfight to the finish. They may have lost a lot of talent, but they have plenty of younger talent to reload.

Ark, Bama, and Washington will all have enough to win if they play lights out.

We shall see. I expect LSU to be favored in every game except the Ark game.

Um, yes. We scored zero points. We crossed the 50 once. Bama would have beaten us by an identical score unless PP7 could have run back one of their kickoffs.

But if you look at last year's roster and schedule vs. this year's in a vacuum, we have a way better chance of going undefeated this year than we did last year.

Looking ahead, as rightfully confident as you are of our chances of success this year, you'd be lying if you couldn't admit that a series of not-entirely-too-unlikely plays could turn our 14-0 into 10-3.

That's what made last year so absolutely, lining up of the planets, freaking amazing. I think I know how bowling a 299 feels.

Now think about last year's confluence of time, space, and meaujeaux. A simply ungodly killer schedule, defeating two BCS conference champions, two BCS bowl victors, three of the final top five teams (four if you count the NCGame, we did beat ourselves) and five of the top twenty five, not to mention the MF national champions. And we won most games running away, despite using two brittle quarterbacks with psyches held together with duct tape and juicy fruit, by consitantly combining solid, minimal-error defense and a highlight-reel's worth of spectacular feats of individual effort that bore fruit.

I like our chances this year as much as ever, and swagger has a way of self-fulfilling, but a few more-human moments, and that bubble could burst. This is going to be a fun summer. . .

very nice post, luv doc.

a good team can beat a great team, on a given day.

Washington, Ark and Bama will all be real tests.

I hope there are not too many more.
