If you don't know Michigan people, they are like ND light in that they truly believe in the "Michigan Man" thing and that kids want to go there for the legacy. Trust me it hurts most of their Alum that they are having to pay kids, especially one 30 min away, to go to Michigan.

It’s pretty simple: UM is an elitist school, although not as elitist as ND. Their fanbase is still full of arrogant, obnoxious, self-entitled twats who think that their program is a re-incarnation of God.

HIS dad doesn't ever want to work again. This will be very telling a few years down the road.

That's actually kinda sad.

How so? A kid has worked and put himself in a position where he can set himself up for life and his parents, to the point, they too won't have to "work" a regular 9-5 for nominal wages, if they so choose.

Lets keep it a bean, more than the majority of people in such a fortuitous position would have grandeurs of the same.

Money talks... ?? Kudos to any child who has a worldly talent that can change the fate of his immediate family in such a life-altering manner, hopefully.

Trashy. No different than the trash that lives off their Hollywood/disney kids, and it’s always been this way in recruiting. Someone in family or an “adviser” always has a hand out.

That money commitment is over 4 years I assume. Is there any contract that is signed that binds the parties ? What if the kid does not produce say in year 2 , do they still owe him his NIL money ?

And they won't be like "this sucks" if they win a championship and have competent qb play for years

Now what if they don’t? Chances are greater that he isn’t worth that $.

Never again. I would respect him more had he not said anything or had he kept his word. However, why should he care, he got paid. Good for him. I hope Michigan has more terrible seasons ahead.

He was probably being advised by family and attorney(s) how to play the game. It's possible he was telling the truth that he was coming to LSU until UM upped it to 10.5M a few days ago. Offer you can't refuse type of thing.... That would be giving him the benefit of the doubt as far as leading us on. Either way, doesn't really matter.

No doubt he’s had people in his ear for the last month telling him to take the money for their own benefit. That’s a lot of pressure on a kid.

It's sad because his dad made the decision for him.

Did I really have to spell that out for you?

5mil and he wouldn’t have to work. I was raised sometimes, money isn’t the answer. Thats what these kids don’t understand when they make decisions based only on money.

Come on people. He was always going to flip as soon as a desperate M staff started talking money. Why do you think he said he was 'likely' still committed to LSU. He was just playing M to get as much money as possible right up the end. Once M got in the auction, it was always going to be M and the only thing undetermined was the amount. Apparently they stopped at 12m over 4 years.

On point here, I'm sure he as talented as it seems, but a great qb is not going to win championships on his talent alone, it takes a team. It appears there is a good bit of work to do there. Roster management in the current environment is just a bitch I would imagine, but the upside is you can turn a program around a lot faster. Just hit the portal with the checkbook. There is still a team chemistry aspect as well. Tricky waters to navigate in the current business of college football.

Would you turn down that much money? What did we offer him, 1.5M a year?

To be honest, if he still came to LSU after what he got from Michigan, I’d say the kid isn’t smart enough to play the QB position.

He would have been a total retard to stay.

$12MM+ offer on the table compared to LSU's $5.2MM

I'd sign with UM too... there's no guarantee you'll be great in college or that you won't blow out your knee your first game. Gotta go where the $$$ is.
