We played our last 2 games against 2 of the best offenses in the SEC with 54 players on scholarship. 1 above SEC minimum. I understand the defense was atrocious but the fact that we stayed competitive and won both of those game can only point to the heart that those who stayed played with. Future is bright baws

We have the talent, just need to get these young men in the weight room so they stop getting pushed around

The only thing that can be said about the defense is they did start to make PLAYS that influenced the game. Still gave up way to many yds but made plays that helped win games which they weren't doing earlier in the year.

And depth for fresh legs, both will be addressed this offseason.

Right there with you. It has been incredible to watch these young dudes come in and play with so much heart. With all the "look at me" Divas gone, what's left is a team that wants to play, wants to win. I didn't even know who Williams was before yesterday. I'm still trying to understand Stingley, but in my opinion all this opting out had zero to do with COVID.

The talent has always been there. What was lacking this year was the coaching. Once they were staring unemployment in the face they tried to get their shite together. Still gave up almost 50 to Ole Piss!

I believe that with even a decent defense this year, we would have been 9-1.

Stingley is like a chase and Marshall. All about himself. He’s a quitter to imo. Dude had one great year and now he feels like he doesnt need to contribute shite. I’d rather have kids out there with heart that care about the team/program. Just very disappointed in him. I honestly thought he would be the best corner to ever come out of LSU. I no longer think that.

OK, you are the LSU DC and were coming in at LSU to install a new 4-3 Defensive scheme with 8 new starters including several true freshmen. The COVID BS hit and you gave up the Spring Camp to install your defense. Then the NCAA instructs all schools that Fall Practice is limited to 5 weeks or so but only 20 hours of practice time per week due to Covid. This 20 Hours per week includes workout time with Strength & Conditioning/Tommy Moffett. Then you have opt outs and you end up with a lack of depth.

Ok, considering all this YOU tell me how you in all your wisdom and knowledge would have handled this situation and installed your new defense. Go ahead because I want to hear one of you geniuses explain it. Go.

Not a legitimate excuse.
Players with one leg and one arm should be able to tackle and defend as soon as they put on an LSU uniform.
It's so easily done, while sitting in my recliner with chips and favorite beverage.

By your argument then, by December Pelini should have had enough time to install the defense wanted to install in spring practice and have everyone playing on the same page, right? But even in December, after 12 weeks of games/film/practices, we were still allowing 500+ yards and close to points per game late in the season.

He tweaked a fricking ankle weeks ago. Don’t give me this crap he’s hurt. Michael Jordan played through food poisoning, emit smith played with a dislocated shoulder, Kerri strung made a dismount on a broken ankle. Delpit played with a bad ankle for most of last season. From what I hear he just doesn’t like Bo. I get you may not like your coach but that doesn’t make it right to bail on your brothers and program. What he’s gonna do when he gets in the nfl and has a coach he doesn’t like? Just sit on the bench? Kids are just pussies now a days and feel the world owes them everything.

No, my argument is in college football in 2020 defenses suffered due to little preparation before seasons started and never really caught up. LSU was farther behind as a result of changing defenses with almost no practice time.

In case you didn’t watch the SEC Championship Game, Bama threw for 418 yards and Florida threw for 408 yards. The final score was Bama-52 Florida-46 for a total of 98 points scored in the SEC Championship game.

So, welcome to reality.

Rob I get that you like to come at the people who are unnecessarily or overly negative, but you need to understand that Pelini is going to be gone, so you don’t have to keep white knighting for him.

To be fair, the kids were working out at home during the summer. I remember Orgeron talking about it before fall camp started - I believe the staff gave the players individual workout regimens and “supervised” via Zoom. At the time, I think the staff was focused more on conditioning than anything. I would guess the players had varying levels of access to free weights and equipment.

While it’s Moffit’s job to make sure they get into playing shape and other schools were in the same boat, I’m not going to hold a unique offseason against him too much. Hopefully this was a one-off and we can have a normal S&C program before next season.
