Ran into him and his family about a year ago at MidCity Beer Garden.

Dude is at peace with his life I assure you.

Poor kid nearly split his core in half, gave it another shot but couldn’t physically play anymore.

Didn't Brennan leave before Daniels arrived?

As Kenny Rogers says you have to know when to hold them and know when to fold them

No, he left during fall camp. Jayden got there in January.

Phil Robertson was the same. Was a star at Louisiana Tech and had an NFL contract waiting, also was ahead of Terry Bradshaw at Tech, but wanted to hunt and fish. That worked out. Brennan had the talent like Robertson, but had the money already. Lived on a yacht in Destin while his home was being rebuilt from the hurricane. If he hadn't been fishing in flip flops and tripped his whole career might have been different. Burrow never took that kind of time off during the season. I'm sure he's loving life.

if it weren’t for Burrow, we’d have been beyond excited about our QB situation which drove us all insane most years.
nope.

After the 2017 season, it was Brennan's job for the taking. But after spring practice, the coaching staff realized Brennan wasn't the guy, so they went out looking for a transfer. They got one - Joe Burrow. Now remember, at that time, nobody thought Burrow was what he turned out to be.

So it wasn't Burrow who came in and stole Brennan's job. The coaching staff realized Brennan wasn't good enough, and went and got a transfer to replace him.

I have no reason to shite on Brennan but this a false narrative. He showed potential and was a likable guy but he never proved that he was a good quarterback. He had size and arm strength but was not ready to take over his junior year, hence why we had to find Joey B as a transfer. When he finally got his chance it was pretty bad. Very inaccurate and just not a very competitive guy. He lost his job to Max Johnson who can barely throw a football

He got passed up by Nuss and Jayden. I guess he could have just stayed on the team that season but he would have never played. He also saw they were excited about Walker Howard at the time. The emotional toll it takes to wait your turn so many times eventually gets to be too much. He’s set for life as far as money, enjoys outdoors, and was also about to get married so he decided to move on with his life. Who knows if he’ll ever regret it but I know he’s still a big fan of LSU.

A healthy Brennan got passed over, twice, by two different HCs. The first time in favor of a guy (Burrow) with LESS experience (Burrow never took a meaningful snap at OSU. Brennan took several significant snaps as a freshman). The second time was in favor of a QB (Daniels) who was at the time looked at as a "falling star" (after his great freshman season at ASU). Neither Burrow nor Daniels were brought in to "compete" for the starting job. They were brought in to be the starter because two different HCs and offensive staffs looked at the QB situation and said "we need someone better."

That doesn't mean Brennan is a bad guy, or even that he wouldn't have had a solid season had he not been hurt vs. Missouri. It's just evidence to refute the claims of many that he would have been a great QB but for bad luck. Clearly multiple coaches didn't think that was the case.

He had the best 3 game start to a career at LSU, even better than Nuss this season. He threw for about 370 yards and nearly 4 TDs per game even playing the final half of his final game with a career ending injury so when he did get his chance he was pretty fricking good.

He didn’t really care to be an NFL QB. It was reflected in his work ethic. There’s a reason Brennan wasn’t a serious option for Kelly when evaluating him next to JD and Nuss

He barely completed 60% of his passes and lost to Moo state and Missouri. His only win was against Vandy. He also had 3 interceptions in his first 2 games. He never proved that he was good or capable of leading us to wins

He put up nearly 40ppg yet he’s the only QB we’ve had recently who’s blamed for a historically bad defense. Very strange double standard Brennan haters love to use.

Had a conversation a few years ago with a family member that works in LSU fundraising.. Said the word on Brennan was always a lack of desire to actually play and put in the work. Good ol' boy wants to good ol' boy.
