I mean technically this is correct...just like it's also true that the Alabama Athletic Department could unilaterally decide that Saban isn't allowed to be associated with the football program until he meets with them and the NCAA to discuss the paperwork behind every car driven by any recruit or player...
However, the Alabama AD generally doesn't pursue idiotic shite for no reason, as an attempt to try to win a PR battle that no one gives a shite about...and therefore Alabama has a football coach, whereas LSU does not have a basketball coach.
It's an own-goal that impresses no one and has completely failed to create the media narrative that was intended. Just because it is a legally permitted own-goal doesn't mean it isn't idiotic bullshite.
