LSU got it's fair share of calls. also wazzou averages about 7 more FTs a game than LSU so it's not like last nights disparity was a huge deal.

the only thing I was really pissed about was 2 calls on storm. not having him in the majority of the game was the difference. I sure do hate moral victories, but I like what we have to look forward to in SEC play.

The refs are the quintessential badguy in a close LSU loss. Look at most of the close football loses this decade, who was at fault? You got it, the refs screwed us. LSU fans have a very high external locus of control.

I will put down LSU fans any chance I get..esp. football because most are idiots....but fans blaming refs are no where near just at LSU...just read another teams message board that LSU is playing and you will see the same exact thing.

with that said..they didn't cost the game last night..but the game was terribly officated. I stated earlier..fouls were about even...but LSU wasn't getting alot of contact fouls in the paint that WSU was getting. WSU was getting called more for hand checks which is fine..but shooting fouls>>non shooting.

but both teams got terrible calls.

I am much more pissed about some of the bad free throw shooting by the Tigers. That was the difference in the game.

The thing about the referees, and this could be backed up by IMO, anyone who watched the game (NOT HEARD IT). They were calling everything. WSU was in the bonus with about 10 minutes left in each half. LSU and WSU both had horrible calls go against them. The problem was the amount of fouls called and the pace/rhythm it dictated.

I know this is a huge gripe about today...but shooting 67% as a team from the free throw line...you will usually win that close game...that really isn't all that bad. most teams aim for around 65 as a realistic goal for each game to shoot from the ilne.

WSU shooting 76% is pretty damn impressive...as a team you will take that 100 out of 100 times.

how about Trent Johnson? He was ripping the refs after the game. I haven't seen him do that before

any more generic comments? Did you even watch the game?

this

a lot of the calls wouldn't have been called with any other team of refs...

exactly, they ruined what should have been a great basketball game. They called a foul basically every possession in overtime

yeah, LSU's rough style of play doesn't go well with refs like that.

Could have something to do with them making a comment to him after the game. Like you said he has never done that before; so, I think something else may have sparked his outspokenness.

Like Fighting said, it is natural for a fan base to do this. There were some bad calls, but it happens. Just seems like whenever we lose a close game it is usually the refs fault. Do you honestly believe the refs were the only thing that prevented us from winning this game? The refs are never going to be perfect; they are human (another generic comment for you).

the 2 missed free throws are the main reason we lost the game

maybe, but he was pretty pissed that Tazmin didn't get 1 free throw all game and said that the refs ruined what should have been a matchup with 2 of the best players in the country.

i don't care if the refs make mistakes, that happens. Don't blow your whistle every possession, let them play.

Bull. The problem I had with the officiating was that they wildly swung back and forth from "let them play" to calling every little thing. Neither team had any idea what a foul was in that game, which was a result of the uneven officiating. that is my biggest gripe. I think they screwed up calls against WSU as well, but it went beyond missing a few calls... they absolutely destroyed the flow of the game. the refs were horrid.

LSU lost because they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in OT, the refs were just incompetent though.

This is my biggest gripe. This crew was almost schizophrenic, but we still had opportunities to win this game.

I dont understand the last shot of the game. Why does bo or tasmin not drive to the basket instead of shooting a fall away 3 pointer. They have been calling everything a foul all night. Why not try to get in there and draw a foul, if not even get a 3 point play?
