I don’t think the ranters would have a problem with NIL if we had A&M’s signing class

I really do think this is where the hypocrisy lies. No one says a peep about NIL until LSU isn’t setting up the same type of deals as A&M/Texas close to signing day.

If we were slinging out cash for recruits like Wade has, we’d be going crazy on the recruiting board right now. No one would be complaining AT ALL about NIL and, instead, would be talking about the dynasty we would be creating under Kelly with the talent we accumulated today.

Bottom line: this would be a non-issue to a shite ton of you if LSU had it’s act together setting up booster deals for recruits. I think it will happen by next year but, people need to quit with the “tear the whole thing down” message just because A&M and Jackson St took advantage of one recruiting cycle

ATM pays for a lot of talent for Jimbo to go 9-3.

Not sure if everyone is mad at aTm...think the angst is more towards the NIL and it's impact on college sports

I have a problem with it. I paid my own way through LSU and worked to have spending money. These guys already had free tuition and books, free lodging and meals, free tutors, etc. That isn't enough. The NCAA did this to remain alive. What we have now is minor league football being paid for by boosters, etc. This is a really sad state of affairs, and the NFL is laughing at everyone; they do not have to pay for a minor league system. NIL stinks.

The talking point that LSU was way ahead of the NIL curve was busted. The idea that LSU recruits itself is over with NIL. Bag men will have to step up. AM did lol

No. I just don’t like stupid people. There’s been plenty of stupid takes on this board.

I could have written this myself

And you will still have NFL guys blaming the NCAA for not giving student athletes a fair shake. Not realizing their ridiculous salaries are taking away from a potential minor league.

No problem with NIL as long as there are standard rules in place with legit consequences for violations.

What it is right now is just pay to play with an extra step... Which is what everyone against it was warning about.

The transfer rules and NIL need to be chiseled in stone or this whole sport is gonna get so wacky it won't be much worth watching going forward.

And I don’t think anyone on this board would care about the “impact” if it benefited LSU

Well, duh. The beneficiaries of terrible systems are the last ones to admit the system is terrible.

Bingo. I think LSU will start ramping up the booster money to land February recruits and big time transfers, though

You're being short sighted or naive if you dont,or didnt see this turning into a huge cluster f-

it was intended to allow kids to benefit from their name. In one season it has already turned into paying recruits to sign or transfer to different schools. Along with the free transfer rules, college football will soon be ruined. Turned into about 5-10 haves and the rest have nots. Im not so sure LSU boosters will be able to keep up with the kind of money that is about to be thrown at players.

Texas schools will benefit the most. Theyve always had big money oil boosters that are huge football fans and want to make their mark on a program. they will do what everyone else is doing except do it next level-like SMU in the 80s. NIL is perfect for those schools with rich and hungry boosters that love to meddle in the program

The ones that are getting paid aren't coming here for books, free lodging, and an education lol. Don't act like they are. They are brought in to produce in football and football alone. The stadiums are packed because of the product on the field. You want the best you have to pay for it. The truth is it always has been a minor league football league but people like to pretend it was school spirit or some shite. You think players from out of state or wherever were coming to LSU because of education purposes and school spirit? Get a grip lol. They were always being paid and are now continuing to get paid. It's a business.
