I was too young when he played at LSU but I remember watching old LSU college World Series games on ESPN classics after school. I remember them showing Lyle Mouton hitting some bombs!

I know it’s random but I’m just now learning he came to LSU on a basketball scholarship and I never knew that.

Beast. Looked like a man (still) not to be fricked with on Hold the Rope.

He played at my high school, STM in Lafayette. He was a top basketball recruit. I remember him even saying he wanted to play at Kentucky. LSU baseball was his calling

Yep. Chris Jackson can make you very forgettable on the court. He made the right call.

Lyle Mouton complimented Skip while in public but hated him in private.

I heard Ronnie Rantz talk about that a month ago. He said he loved basketball more but he was better in baseball.

It’s private. Only people who are in the know can know about it, but I heard it was because he threw him under the bus.

I pitched against STM in HS. I was a junior and wasn’t one of our regular pitchers that year and on the bus ride to STM that day, my coach tells me he is starting me that game. I went 5 innings giving up two runs and we lost 2-1. Lyle hit one deep on me to the fence. I knew about him then and was very cautious when pitching to him.

I think I remember him hitting one off the scoreboard in Omaha, or over it. He had that Ron Gant swing.
