I didn't know FSU got to start practicing a week early.

Because they play a week 0 game, FSU got to start training camp a week ahead of teams that don't have a week 0 game.

I knew playing a game before they play LSU would help FSU work out the kinks, but having an additional week of practice is very valuable.

Prolly Germans, but I truly didn't know that.

ALL teams are allowed X amount of practices before the season opener. For whatever reason if a team's season opener is week two they don't get to start fall camp the same time as most every other team. It's still X amount of practices.

I'd erased that from my memory until just now. Moving on.

Based on their injuries it doesn’t look like it was a good thing

You have not refuted the point. If LSU and FSU each get 20 practices before their season openers, and FSU opens a week before LSU, then FSU will get a full week of practices, and a game) more than LSU. Unless they are forbidden to practice the week before LSU, which isn’t so.

The coaching staff also gets game film to scheme against. FSU will have nothing on LSU.

It’s more of them having a game the week before they do giving them advantage. It’s a chance to hit someone other than your teammates, so they’ll get that out of their system. It’s another week of game preparation and going through those motions. It’s figuring out what works and what doesn’t and what they need to work on. We’re not gonna get much film from them on the game because I doubt it’ll take much effort to beat Duquesne

What if the Dukes upset FSU? Tigers will be looking at a horn-mad Noles team in Week One.

Yes but by practicing more they seem to have had some significant injuries. Word is 1 of their top receivers will be out and they will be starting their 3rd string center. Oh Oh
