In no way would 4 pass attempts against Army catapult him over the known commodity, unless Haskins was just considered that much better.
When you are hurt and not really practicing with the team and the back up has been practicing with the second team since your injury, yet it is very likely that he would have more rhythm than Burrow who had been out with injury. The game time pass attempts do not mean much, the fact that Haskins had been practicing consistently with the team and had most likely developed a rhythm that Joe did not have at the time does.

Well he openly wants lsu to lose every game, so I doubt it

Do you not think the time and reps he missed in the offseason hurt his position on the depth chart??
Do you think Haskins didn’t do anything except those 4 passes to be ahead of him?? ?
Look, I won’t even argue that Burrow wasn’t just beat out and couldn’t pass Haskins. But, all indications are that Haskins is a really fricking good QB.
Doesn’t mean Burrow isn’t also very good in his own right and way better than anything else we had on the roster already.
Jacob Eason got hurt, and lost his position to Fromm. Obviously Eason is still very good and Washington, a National title contender, is happy to have him on board going forward.
Burrow is a game changer for us even if he isn’t a Heisman contender. He just has to be better than McMillan, Brennen, and Narcisse and I’d bet good money he will be that and much more.
Of course he doesn't reply to your post. Logical reasoning doesnt fit his agenda.

"The big shift is here in Game 4 against UNLV. Both guys are healthy and eligible to play. Haskins gets 23 attempts where Burrow only gets 4. [My memory is that Burrow was about 80% healed. Coaches trying to give him playing time]
In short, Urban Meyer is full of crap. Burrow was buried on the depth chart at #3, and leaving opened him up another scholarship. "
Burrow wasn't buried. Haskins performed well during practices after Burrow was hurt and just barely beat him out. He then performed extremely well in the clutch in the Michigan game. The now no. 2, Tate Martell isn't nearly the thrower that either Haskins or Burrow is. The 3rd quarterback is coming off of major knee surgery. OSU would love to have Burrow, but everyone realizes he is too good to sit on the bench, and no one blames him for leaving OSU.
Also, the coaches thought so much of Burrow that he was given equal reps with Haskins during spring ball to give him a fair chance to win the the job, which he came close to doing.

Wrong. Haskins is NOT a dual threat QB like Burrow.
I'll bet Urban would love to start Burrow who if you watch won the last 2 spring game QB competitions handily.
Haskins had the edge in 2 ways.
1. He beat MI
2. Kevin Wilson is now going to get his way and run more of an Indiana style O this year. Watch it.

OSU fans say otherwise, but thanks for your expert analysis.
I will judge Burrow after I see him play a few games in an LSU uniform under live action.
My thoughts are, urban went with the player that game him at least 3 years as a starter versus Burrow maybe taking 2, maybe 1, thus limiting the other guy...who is more athletic and might fit urbans system better.
but Burrow by all accounts is a stud and our players have already said so

by all indications, they were on the same footing going into the UNLV game. Just the game before, they essentially got the same game reps. To me, that shows that they were on pretty equal footing. What happened in that time to give Haskins all the reps and Burrow to go to mop up duty?
quote:not according to the talk this Spring. Burrow was the good one and Haskins rode the struggle bus
But, all indications are that Haskins is a really fricking good QB.
quote:well eason missed out on everything last season with the knee injury and fromm proved so much (much more than haskins) in his opportunity. i dont think the comparison is all that valid.

It's ok to admit you are wrong Rouge.
No need to double down on it.

. He just got beat out and processed.

Even if that is the case that still doesn't mean he isn't better than what is on our current roster. Only time will tell I guess.

True he did get beat out, but he left on his on accord.

So where would our other three QBs fall on the OSU depth chart? Would our best QB from the spring game be battling for the starting role?
Posted on 7/26/18 at 2:06 pm to Rouge
does the OP realize that the Ohio State won their last NC with their 3rd string QB?
if we concede that Burrow was the 3rd string, it still leaves plenty of room to believe that Jeaux is championship caliber!
put that in your pipe and smoke it!

This is the most alarming part for me
It seems clear that we still have an issue developing QBs

bullshite. You cannot in any circumstance backcount a fourth yr scholarship. The only benefit Urban got was one less to count against the 85 headcount. He cannot create a new offer to anyone.
