My bro-in-law doesnt fall in any of those categories but he is a certified badass but also one of the nicest most humble guys I have ever met. And I can guarantee you he would be appalled by the conduct of some of his fellow Marines on the LSU and JJ fb page.

I'd say I did run with a great crowd. Every person that I "ran with" in high school went to college. I said of the people at Destrehan that I knew that went into the military, they didn't have the grades to get into college. I didn't generalize anything. I didn't mention anyone I didn't know. It also appears you made a generalization about people from Destrehan in your post.

Every service member has their own faults. For example, I hate it when I go downtown on leave or somewhere and there are assholes walking around off duty in uniform at bars and such. I had to ask one day why this E-5 was in uniform at Clicks. He responded, for the free drinks. I gave him ten seconds to leave the bar or I was gonna beat his arse. There are people who abuse the system. Think due to being in the service they are privledged or exempt above others. In this case, marines were drinking, the power trip probably came out, and the arse was beat. Seen it a billion times. I have no issue with it being a marine that got beat down. Judging off his FB page and other shite, he was a spotlight ranger. No big deal.

The people steriotyping all military are equally stupid. I personally know many smart talented people who decided out of duty to country to join the miliatry. we can't paint everyone with a broad brush

It's easy to claim all kinds of stuff on the internet, you know. We've got one tough guy in this thread alone who claims that he and his Navy buddy whipped up on 10 Marines and then were commended by the base CO for doing so.
