You’re acting like people are calling for him to throw 100 pitches on 2 days rest.

30-50 pitches on 3 days rest with the national title on the line is not that big an ask if he’s 1) physically up to it and 2) the coaches think he can be as effective as usual.

If either of those criteria aren’t met then of course don’t run him out there.

If you want to disagree, that’s fine. But pretending it’s some insane and dangerous suggestion is silly.

It only takes one pitch. It can happen at any time. It can happen on he first pitch of a game after a full week of rest. But it's exponentially more likely to happen on short rest in a high leverage situation.

If you were right (you’re not) it would be your first time

If you were half as smart as you think you are you would be twice as smart as you really are

Do the math

Plenty are.

One of the premises of this thread is that his team (which includes himself) may have decided that he wasn't ready to go AKA not physically up to it....so exactly what are we taking about here????

I’m not going to pretend to know where that line is drawn, and neither can you. Is it 1% normally and 5% on short rest? Is that too much? Is 2% too much? Should everyone have a hard pitch count limit regardless of rest days?

That’s why I said if he’s physically able and the coaches think he can be effective. If neither of those are met then obviously don’t play him.

But you can’t tell me that 30-50 pitches on 3 days rest with the title on the line is on its face an unreasonable thought.

I am right dumbass. So do yourself a favor and remove yourself from the conversation. It is better for everyone to think you're an idiot than to open your mouth or in this case write a post and remove all doubt.
