Everyone is overreacting to a really shite umpire.

I don't disagree, but he was most terrible for A&M and we didn't even cash in on it. Our runs were mostly legit. Floyd loses focus. He looks like Nolan Ryan then just kinda spaces out. His ability to throw multiple pitches around the zone is there now, but he needs to stay efficient. Otherwise, like I said in another thread, he needs to just be a 1 time through the order guy. The ump was butthole for all of the pitchers. Edwards, Coop, and Money all wiggled their way through.

Just like last year and the year before that will not cut it in the SEC. In SEC he will give up at least 1 run per inning. That is simply not good enough.

Did some of you just start watching today?

Floyd has improved every year. He completely dominated this team all fall practice. Here's some stats from last year BTW -

@bama: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 1 ER
Ole miss: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 ER
@Vandy: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 7 K, 0 BB, 1 ER

So he clearly has some stuff to fool SEC hitters. You haven't been paying very close attention judging by your comments on Floyd.

Ummm he pitched 5 no hit innings against Samford in a start

And threw 86 pitches, walked 3 guys. Against a bad hitting team.

I like Floyd. I really do. But so frickin’ what lol

First two games out of pen, 6ip, 9ks only 1 bb. He works better in short spurts. He can start but that’s not his wheelhouse

lost his weekend spot for now because he couldn't extend, bottom line.

Wait, you don’t think it was planned to move Hurd into that weekend spot?

I wonder if other people are this ignorantly cocky about this

Realistically he would have given up 2-3 if he didn’t completely screw up an easy double play.
That was on your middle infield. Thompson and dugas were both going to the bag with Thompson getting their first but Dugas actually covering. Floyd had not choice but to double clutch/wait for dugas.

While I agree, he also threw it like a 12 year old lesbian

They literally pulled him out of the game vs UNO off of a strikeout, at 35 pitches.

For another RHP.

It wasn’t matchup-based at all. It was planned. So he could pitch this weekend if needed.

Now explain to us where we were before the strike out, and why.

Are you seriously trying to act like pitching 5 no hit innings is LESS impressive than pitching 3 no hit innings? Competition was pretty even if not tougher for the 5 innings. Just stop Lester, you were flat wrong there.

It's pretty clear you don't if you think 5 no hit innings is not one hus best appearances this season because you are trying to push the narrative he's only good out of the pen.

He works better in short spurts.

So does literally anyone basically. It's tough to go through the order 2+ times and keep stamina/focus up, it's why only a few guys ever become starters.

Floyd has completed at least 5.0 IP 9 times this year and last, hes obviously shown he can extend and the coaches trust that he can if they are still giving him starting opportunities.

Hurd will be outstanding once he gains experience. I do not have confidence in Floyd who reminds me of Money; they just do not get it one.

Dude isn’t remotely close to money. You somehow just took over as the dumbest opinion in this thread

You notice how he points to the 3 walks in those 5 innings, but then ignores the 2 walks from Shores before his strike out when he was pulled from UNO?

He will use one argument to try to make his point, then turn around and ignore the exact same argument he just made to try to prove he was correct. Straight out the LE playbook.

I don’t think what he did vs Samford was overly impressive, no. He had multiple base runners and a start like that against a better team results into something more similar to what happened today,

The ancillary numbers to that start vs Samford were not good

86 pitches; only 47 strikes. 3 bbs. 1 HBP, 1 WP.
