Floyd got no favors from umps but Hurd still way more advanced. Definitely looking like a sweep. Geaux tigers

Floyd will be fine once he learns not to leave pitches over the heart of the plate when he’s ahead with 2 strikes

Someone needs to tell him that.

It's splitting hairs right now. Hurd maybe ends up being better when the dust settles, but he's not there yet.

Bottom line, I don't think it matters which one starts Saturday or Sunday right now. With either, Saturday will be our toughest day to win, and we will have a big edge most Sundays with the other starting.

Neither of them are a Saturday guy that could be a Friday guy if Skenes wasn't all world. But either of them are better than most Sunday guys the rest of the nation can trot out.

I believe it was just him thinking if he tries to paint corners, the ump will walk everyone, so let the defense get them out.

Wouldn’t be surprised if so. To be fair, he definitely wasn’t getting the corners.

He has been doing it for 2 years. Don’t you think he would have figured it out by now. The umps today didn’t help his fastball location but he stills throws too many fastballs and not enough off speed. If he stays in the rotation he needs to pitch Sunday’s so the other bullpen is shot so we can give him run support. The other option is you start Little.

Floyd lost his composure today

It's going to be a long season and needs to understand this isn't the last time he'll face umps like this.

Floyd is a bullpen pitcher. Wonder how long Jay hammers this

Who would you have take the mound in a weekend series game 2, Les?

Floyd didn’t have that many bad pitches and obviously the umps didn’t help him at all. I still like him as our Saturday guy

False

Hurd is a pitcher. Floyd is a thrower.

I would set a rotation of Skenes-Hurd-Shores

There isn’t a fall off from Shores to Floyd as a starter, but I think Floyd in the bullpen gives you another guy that can go multiple innings, but more importantly miss bats.

Well, I'll take a "thrower" that is 3-0 with a 1.08 ERA coming into the day.

If only JJ could have closed on Hurston Waldrep from USM!! The Gators are gonna be a problem in the SEC with their Friday & Saturday night Starters.

Hurd is 4-0 with a 1.39 ERA in his college career. What makes you say he’s not a capable Friday starter?

Floyd should be on Sunday eventually if we feel like he needs to start. Personally, I'd rather see Floyd out the pen 1-2 innings, 1 time through the order, maybe a few more hitters if he's cruising. He seems to have a short attention span.

He also missed almost a year with a back injury. I'm not saying he doesn't have the capability to be a Friday SEC guy, but as of this moment he is not.

Floyd is the same pitcher he was last year and the year before. All he has is a fastball. He is a 1 inning reliever and is not an SEC starter.
