I always agree with Hunt but who took a top 8 seed from LSU this weekend?

Hunt is easily my favorite Baton Rouge sports media guy. I totally disagree with him here.

No one. If anyone buys that 19-11 in SEC doesn’t get you top 8, I don’t know what to tell you

Well I listen to Hunt a lot and when he goes on his party pooper takes I just turn off the radio or ignore. So his engagement tactics don’t work on me.

Well part of what he may be referring to is the projections from D1 baseball that were put up on the screen in about the 6th inning of today’s game that said:

“if the season ended today” (which I think meant before any games were played today) had LSU as a 9 seed.

How many of top 8 does SEC get? 5 is max.

Texas, Arkansas are ahead of us.
Georgia and Vandy could beat us out bc RPI.
If Auburn wins SEC tournament and we are 0-1, I could see us being seeded 9th.

That was a typo by the Mark Suckerberg alien clone, LSU was at 2 not 9.

He’s factoring in RPI and SoS. Ours don’t really stand out when compared to those of other teams in the top half of our league.

I don’t think we get left out of the top 8, but I see where he’s coming from. Would feel a lot better if we got at least one W in Hoover

Hunter Palmer is not making this decision. 19-11 in SEC is a lock for Top 8. Hunter will have his reasons for clicks in the future. He can chill for now

Not sure it’s objectivity, more of glass half empty kind of mentality

You agreeing with this just assures that they are a lock. You are one of the most ignorant on here. We were projected a 2 seed going into the weekend....and won the series....idgaf if we lose 10-0 in Hoover we ain't dropping 6 spots after a season of work...for a trny game

19 conference wins in the SEC is a lock to be a national seed. We could get beat 100-0 in the SEC tournament and we’ll be a top 8 seed.

LSU finished #3 in the most difficult conference by far. Tied for second in Q1 and Q2 wins in the conference, they do not need to win any games next week to be a top 8 seed.

I see no way you can finish top 4 in the SEC and not get a top 8 seed.

I understand what he says, but I don't see the committee doing it.

Vandy catching fire late hurts—same conference record as LSU, but a much higher RPI.

Texas, Vandy, Arky, and LSU receive national seeds from the SEC. Auburn or UGA will receive one if they win the SECT.

We. Are. The. Number. One. Team. In. The. Nation.

Unless something really, really bad happens we are a top 8 seed.

That's a bit extreme, but so is his take here.

He has to know better. I've seen Hunt Palmer do something like this once before. I think it's trying too hard to be objective.

LSU isn't losing a top 8 seed after winning a road SEC series ranked as the #1 team by everyone. Doesn't matter who they played.
