How's the committee handle this situation? Re: USCe & LSU Seeding

For the sake of this discussion, let's assume LSU and South Carolina take 2 of 3 from their remaining series.
USC (#1 RPI) 16-5 vs. Q1 RPI Opponents
All remaining opponents are Q1, so if they take 2 of 3, they end up 24-9 vs Q1 Opponents.
LSU (#3 RPI) 10-6 vs. Q1 RPI Opponents
All remaining opponents are Q1, so if they take 2 of 3, they end up 18-10 vs. Q1 Opponents.
USC wins the SEC outright with a record of 21-8.
LSU wins the SEC West with a record of 20-9.
What carries more weight with the NCAA Selection Committee? Metrics (RPI, Q1, Season Accomplishments, etc.) or Longevity (Preseason Ranking, winning all series, wire-to-wire, etc.)

They finish at Kentucky, at Arkansas, Tennessee. 3 good teams that will need to win.

South Carolina wins out in this comparison, but they aren’t going to win all of those games

Let them have the 1 seed. I’ll take 2 all day. Perfect time for a chip to be placed on the shoulder

If SC ends up with the better conference record after the series they have remaining, they will clearly deserve the #1 with a far tougher conference schedule. They would have played Vandy and Florida plus every tough opponent LSU faced except A&M.

At this point does it matter where we finish in the top 5? This team, if healthy, should get to Omaha if they perform like they should. Once there all bets are off.
In your scenario USCe 1, LSU 2.

They're a completely different team away from home. Teams like that never make it in Omaha.

They already like us more and our schedule is easier, so I like our chances. But the key is only to get a top 8 seed and everything else doesn't matter (other than stay injury free)!

The only thing that really matters is being a top 8 National seed. They both will do that. We want to win the SEC I’m sure, but the post season is what matters

I think LSU has one more sweep in them.
SC has a much tougher road ahead of them.
But to answer your question with two answers.
1 - SC probably would deserve that #1. But some weight may be put on SEC Tourney.
2 - Who cares? I'll gladly take the #2 overall.

If it plays out like that, the SEC Champion with more Q1 wins and the better RPI would probably get the #1 seed. LSU would probably be #2 and wouldn't have to worry about all of that talk about how the #1 seed hasn't won the college world series in 30 years (or however long its been).

I do. Not because I want the overall seed, but because I was curious to see what's more important to the committee.

Why do you want to be the #1 seed?
I wish USC had jumped us in the rankings this week and I hope them and Wake are seeded 1 and 2 in the tournament

No where have I said I want the #1 seed. Just curious what carries more weight to the committee.

Doesn’t matter…..even a little bit. Finishing in the top eight before and after the tournament is what matters.

Do you think people struggled to read this the first time you posted it?
Why didn't you go into your long winded expert break down of what the committee looks for again? Didn't want to get laughed out of another thread today?

No one listen to this fricking retard. He’s a known knowitall troll.
He posts condescending responses in every baseball thread to all posters because he “knows so much about baseball”.
