B ….more of the same mediocrity

No way that Lester or Ed could have taken the talent of the last two years and finished over 500.

Mediocrity maybe, but player talent is much worse than what Les had between 2008 and 2017.

CBK gets more out of his talent rather than getting beat by teams with inferior talent. He did that at ND and is doing it at LSU.

C he blew either the best or second best offense in lsu history with another 3 losses, and honestly next year will be alot worse.

This year a C. Waiting until the last game to make adjustments on that atrocious defense is just inexcusable. Wasting one of our best offenses by losing games that could have been won if he had only been a pro-active head coach and stepped in on the defensive side to make changes.

He doesn’t get a pass for the defense, but I give him credit for the offense.

Considering where Kelly started, I’d have to give him an A. We are just in year 2 with a chance at back to back 10 wins and a Heisman trophy. Right on track for a title run in year 4.

It has been a very good turn around. Very good. The resume should now include a Heisman winner.

C+

Kelly’s recruiting has been poor. Game management has been ok.

Special teams has been a disaster for two straight years.

I hope he looks in the mirror this morning and realizes having House as his DC cost him the best chance he’s ever had at winning a National title.

The fact that he didn’t shitcan House going into the bye is inexcusable.

Then why was he losing 4-5 games a year?

he lost 3 the last full year he coached here.

the answer is because we had a shitty offense scheme.

I think it is, to this point, a mismatch between expectations and results. Next year's defense may be worse if that is possible. Certainly no reason to expect it to be significantly better.

What will the offense be like. Doubt the QB production is near what it was this year. Running game may be better, but the receivers will be less productive. In the absense of a real step up by the defense, it seems unlikely that there will be 10 wins next season.

For him to admit the team wasn't who he though it was after another (avoidable) opening day loss was a stunning revelation. Does not knowing one's own team speak to the heart of the head coach's responsibilities? I hope to heaven he knows what his defense is. That statement should give him no higher than a C-.

Next year will be an important fork in the road for this program.

He has to win more big games than not. A lot more. The two FSU losses, Aggie last year and OM this year is not the road to "Graduating Champions".

I'd give him an A- to B+.

The defense this year is the only reason I wouldn't go A, but he's managed to overcome that for a 9-3 season, 6-2 in the SEC.

As someone else pointed out, 6-2 SEC both years. When you consider what he started with, that's great.
I don't care how much he makes, you still have to look at what they are given to work with. Kelly didn't really have any more than Napier did at Florida; Napier is 11-14, with a pair of 3-5 SEC records.

C.
Next season will tell the tale. Most of O's players, except Nuss and Hilton will be gone. He has to fly on his players. With Portal and NIL there is no excuse for ineptness.
